Re: Snyder (the absolute worst owner in all of sports) to stay on a owner
+ 1
I am always hesitant to criticize highly successful people as it reeks of jealousy. And a very long time ago, part of me admired the fact that Dan Snyder had built a business up from nothing, made tons of money, and was able to purchase an NFL franchise despite it requiring 2 attempts and the league somewhat favoring JKC Jr. I now see his initial ascent into wealth as dumb luck, nothing more. |

At 17, Snyder experienced his first business failure when he partnered with his father to sell bus-trip packages to Washington Capitals fans to see their hockey team play in Philadelphia.[9] By age 20, he had dropped out of the University of Maryland, College Park[10] and was running his own business, leasing jets to fly college students to spring break in Fort Lauderdale and the Caribbean.[4] Snyder claims to have cleared US$1 million running the business out of his parents' bedroom with his friend Joe Craig, and several telephone lines.[11] Snyder courted real estate entrepreneur Mortimer Zuckerman, whose US News & World Report was also interested in the college market and who agreed to finance his push to publish Campus USA, a magazine for college students.[4] Zuckerman and Fred Drasner, co-publisher of Zuckerman's New York Daily News, invested $3 million in Campus USA.[4] The venture did not generate enough paid advertising and was forced to close after two years.[ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daniel_Snyder I always thought he came from money and family loan set him up ... but reading wiki (I know wiki ..) it does seem like he earned it. Yes he was rich, went to private school in england but seems his parents werent rich rich like parents of Elon Musk or Kidd Rock. I respect rich people who hustle. Its a trait at a young age. Mark Cuban, when he was 17 or so, would drive up to like cleveland and buy their newspapers then drive back down to Pittsburgh to sell papers when the pittsburgh paper went on strike. Remember when news papers were a big deal? we got all our info form newspapers and nighlty news? |

Sounds like ole dad was the brains behind the operations. Sorry, but you are not going to convince me that Danny has any particular smarts or abilities. I think we learned all we needed to know during Danny's first couple of years. He fired lots of long time staff at Redskins Park for no good reason. And the way he treated Norv Turner was beyond despicable. And he was just getting started on a reign of sleaze and incompetence that continues right up to this day. |

Totally agree. Unless he's miraculously cleared of any wrong doing, but that seems pretty doubtful.

he starts winning here and keeps his nose clean all will be forgotten. also it is so odd to me no actual criminal charges have been brought forward. I think some of this is he has a fetish and another part of it is gold diggers; combine the two and its major news. Lots of smoke very little fire.

Re: Snyder (the absolute worst owner in all of sports) to stay on a owner
Again, I'm seeing stupid comments on Twitter about holding Jason and Ron responsible for the report cover up.
It boggles me how stupid people are when it comes to the NFL. You want to get ANYTHING done, you need to pressure the owners, period. Not Ron, not Jason, hell not even Goodell. The owners dictate everything, Goodell got his orders from the owners to bury this.

It's is weird that the owners are willing to die on this hill. Again, there has to be a group of powerful owners that are behind this. Or every owner has decide to make a stand to avoid setting a precedent.

Dan was one of those guys who probably didn't lose his virginity until he started making money. It somewhat explains the frat boy behavior in the workplace and awkwardness around women.
I have heard horrible stories about him ( and his sister Michelle) from his days at Snyder Communications. I didn't believe it at first but now that all of this stuff is coming out I believe it. |

Re: Snyder (the absolute worst owner in all of sports) to stay on a owner
So the good news is that it seems that the NFL and Snyder are at odds with each other. The NFL is saying that Snyder has to okay the release of any information, and Snyder's lawyer is saying that they are not blocking any release. So this is going to become very interesting.

Re: Snyder (the absolute worst owner in all of sports) to stay on a owner
The NFL says the Washington Commanders' hiring of an investigative firm won't stop the league from conducting its own inquiry into Tiffani Johnston's allegations of sexual harassment against team owner Dan Snyder.
The Commanders announced Wednesday morning that Pallas Global Group LLC, led by former Assistant United States Attorneys Bonnie Jonas and Tiffany Moller, will manage an "independent investigation" into allegations made last week by Johnston before a congressional committee. But the league clarified later Wednesday that the Commanders' investigation would be separate from any investigation or action taken by the NFL. A league spokesman said in a statement, "Last week, the League stated that we will review and consider Ms. Johnston's allegations as we would any others regarding workplace conduct at the Washington Commanders. The League, not the team, will conduct an independent investigation and will be retaining an investigator to determine the facts shortly." "Apparently the NFL also recognized how absurd it was to think Dan Snyder could investigate himself," Johnston's attorney, Lisa Banks, said in a statement to ESPN. "We await communication from the NFL about whether it intends to undertake this investigation independently, and without any common interest agreement with Snyder. If the investigation is truly independent, and the NFL commits to make the findings public, my clients will be happy to participate." https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/...der-allegation I almost spit my coffee out when I heard Dan Snyder has hired an "independent" investigator to look into the newest unearthed Ms. Johnston allegations (hand on thigh, trying to push her into a limo) Zero self awareness. Are we approaching the straw that broke the camels back territory for the NFL re Snyder? This repeated egg on face has to have other owners steamming. |
