Was just looking through our salary situation as it looks this year and next year. I guess we only saved around .2 million towards the cap from Hightower, but Jamaal Brown might be gone soon........

hall would have been gone this year if there was anyone to get. next year has OTs and CBs the FA class, but i imagine both moss and hall will be gone... that's like 18mill or something crazy right there. cooley was the other big money guy... brown is out too i'd guess, and morgan leaving wouldn't surprise me.

honestly the WR corp is going to make the 2013 roster decisions this year. we have 3 big money guys, and unless morgan shows well, we'll probaly be down to garcon and our depth for next year.

I hate to see Tim Hightower go. But obviously there were serious concerns with his knee again. To be from the D.C. area and to grow up a Redskin fan and then to some day play for that team was a dream come true. I hope he catches on somewhere else soon.

No. That is the exact way they need to deal with it. It's a privilege to play in the NFL, not a right. Many employers drug test and would fire you on the first offense, these guys get plenty of chances and have counseling and help there for them. They chose to do what they want.

Sorry if this has been covered here or in the other thread, but how does this play into the roster cuts? I would assume he doesn't count against the 53, but does the team still control his rights for next season if he's allowed to come back?

No, he doesn't count against the 53. And we can retain his rights by putting him on the "reserve/bonehead" list. Wait, my bad, that's "reserve/suspended" list.

i should mention that on the play when i broke his leg, we were about 20 yards behind the line of scrimmage. he could have just thrown it away... i had/have never seen a qb drop back that far.
