It will forever pain me to know that the money that went to Haynesworthless was meant to go for Sean Taylor's contract renewal had he not passed.

Re: Redskins vs. Bengals Post Game Reaction
Yeah, but more importantly he wanted to get paid. There are some who believe that he purposely asked for a lot knowing the Redskins wouldn't offer it and then he moved on. But he took that same asking price, can't recall the exact figures, elsewhere.

Re: Redskins vs. Bengals Post Game Reaction
He wanted out because we wouldn't pay him 80 billion dollars for 5 years. We've built a rep in the league for paying players and when we don't pony up to our pending FAs they get their panties in a twist about it. SS bluntly said Los got laughed at around the whole league but it was the Skins he was mad at. Funny.

Several declining players on defense, fletcher is having big issues with pass coverage. Kinda funny watching Ray Lewis play right now, and he is nowhere close to the player he was a few years ago.

Re: Redskins vs. Bengals Post Game Reaction
Maybe this is wrong to say, but I really don't see the personnel being the issue here. Wilson, Hall and Golmes I think should all be good enough to not be shredded like it has been going.
It seems like scheme wise, they are calling the game like they have elite corners. The 73 yard pass was no no safety help, the one on Wilson was the same, and then the long pass on Crawford had a safety, but they went to a different direction. They are crowding the line, blitzing a bunch of people and leaving everyone one on one, but the rush isn't getting there. It is a recipe for disaster because the scheme is creating a situation where the front end can't do their job and the back end isn't talented enough to pull it off. |

Still, I do think we need talent in the secondary.

Re: Redskins vs. Bengals Post Game Reaction
Oh i completely agree. I just feel like the secondary is average, but what we have seen is comparable to the Patriots last year when they had nothing but rookies back there.

Now the defense is just not very good all the time. So glad we fixed that problem.

I think Crawford and gomes will be good players, they're just young. Griffin, Williams, Hall, and butler are what they are. A bad secondary. We havent been good up front either but because Bowen and cofield have done fine, our weaknesses up front get glossed over a lot.

Kerrigan is like rak, they both always just get close but no sacks. I'll say our run d is pretty good but obviously teams won't be running much on us

Re: Redskins vs. Bengals Post Game Reaction
Really, no sacks? I'm pretty sure they did get sacks. And "just get close" is called a pressure. Sometimes pressures are as good as sacks. Unfortunately, our secondary can't take advantage of those hurried passes because they always seem to be out of position, rather it's by defensive design or poor technique.
