I'd like to think we could all agree there are extremists on both sides. But I know I'm smart enough not to believe that the views of the 3%ers/Oath Keepers are representative of every Republican.

The problem is your regular average joe like myself is not willing to speak up to drown out the crazies on both sides of the aisle, who tend to speak the loudest. And when all the media coverage on both sides of the aisle tends to focus on whatever nonsense the extremists are spewing, you start to believe their massively outnumbered position reflects the entire opposition as a whole.

Oh Thank God. I thought the article was going to say they spray painted a statue or worse tore it down! I hate when inanimate objects are destroyed because of social inequality. I mean this is just a couple of guys who read twitter and wanted to kill people because their candidate lost an election. So relieved.

I don’t think it is that small of a subset. But small enough to get squashed if they tried to revolt in numbers.

It isn’t even the so called militias or proud boys or all the extremists and white nationalist groups who actually take action based on propaganda that are the main issue. It is the millions upon millions of Trumpers spreading the false propaganda that these smaller group of wing nuts take as the gospel. The most significant of which happens to be the President (for a couple more months anyway).
