Re: Report: Shanahan to DC done deal
The media makes it a soap opera, because they don't know yet so they make up stuff in an attempt to get the truth out. When the HC replacement become official we are going to find out that the Skins fllfiled their obligations to the Rooney Rule from the league office and we still will not find out who the minority candidate was, just like when Allen was hired. Some stuff is meant to be confidential and will remain that way.

Re: Report: Shanahan to DC done deal
CP wanted more money in Denver but I'm not sure how much animosity, if any, there was between Shanahan and Portis because of that. Does anyone have the scoop?

Re: Report: Shanahan to DC done deal
I think Shanahan felt he could turn any RB into gold so they cut ties with CP.

Re: Report: Shanahan to DC done deal
If I recall correctly, there wasn't any huge animosity. Portis just wanted more money, and Kubiak was the real fan of Portis and the guy who pushed for the Broncos to draft him. Not so much Shanahan

Re: Report: Shanahan to DC done deal
Actually, if Shanahan signs with us then last night was actually a very very very good thing - it means he'll be more incined to take an Offensive linemen in the first round than a quarterback. Our OL was simply the worst i've ever seen it last night.

I remain uncertain because memories fade but I think this year's OL is the worst Skins OL I have seen in almost 40 years of watching.

Re: Report: Shanahan to DC done deal
He may not be the GOAT as a coach...but Shanahan will at least make us a respectable franchise again.
BTW- People keep asking "why keep Zorn around"...to ensure we tank the last couple of games and get a to 5 pick!

So when you say the ink is all but dry, does that mean he has actually signed some sort of secret paperwork, or have he and "SnydAll" simply reached an agreement in principle? I doubt the former is true, so if the later, do you have any idea what the terms of the contral will be (i.e. years/dollars/control/title(s), etc.)? If the former is true, then have the skins somehow found a way to satisfy the rooney rule even though there is no head coaching vacancy at present?

Re: Report: Shanahan to DC done deal
Portis can't be cut soon enough for my taste.
