Yes, he has. Per Redskins Insider:
Redskins Insider - Shanahan's coaching staff: the story so far
Quote:
Former Giants assistant Mike Waufle could coach the defensive line. Several New York papers, as well as NFL.com, have reported Waufle's interview with the Redskins, and though Waufle was fired by the Giants -- whose defensive line played poorly over the second half of the season, contributing to a collapse -- he maintains a solid reputation in the game. He previously coached the Raiders' defensive line from 1998-2003, years that overlapped with Redskins General Manager Bruce Allen's time in Oakland. Another candidate mentioned by NFL.com: Tim Krumrie, the former Cincinnati Begnal defensive lineman who was a longtime Cincinnati assistant. He spent 2009 with Kansas City, but was fired last week.

Not surprising though, Shannahans two best personal options got jobs elsewhere Bugel is easily one of the best line coaches in the league. Maybe in the end Bugel was a little to loyal to this bunch of guys but I wouldn't be surprised if one of them turned out to be a steal (*cough* Edwin Williams *cough*).

Quote:
Bugel thinks Shanahan will figure out a way to build off the existing personnel and said several players benefited from the adversity faced by this season's line.

Shanahan signs former Broncos draft pick
Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on January 14, 2010 1:47 PM ET
The Denver-to-Washington pipeline is open for business.

Let it be known: Center/guard Kory Lichtensteiger was the first signing of the Shanahan era. A fourth-round pick by Shanahan in 2008, the lightweight lineman was cut by Denver, then Minnesota last year.

Former Broncos running back coach Bobby Turner became Shanahan's first official coaching hire earlier Thursday.

I know you guys probably already know this or have seen this but did you notice... the part about Bobby Turner being Shanahans first official coaching hire Thursday? I didn't know this... I thought Kyle Shanahan was his first. Matter of fact I thought there were a few other coach's hired prior to Bobby? Lou Spanos, Richard Mann?

Are these people who have agreed to terms but have not come and signed their contract? Is that why Bobby is technically Shanahan's first hire?

It's the first hire "officially announced" by the team apparently.

I am officially as happy about this as I was about VC leaving.

I may have exaggerated a little, but I really disliked SS as offensive coordinator. Even his leaving comments ring of kissing up and throwing his buddy Zorn under the bus to be looked better on by the NFL. I really am glad he is gone.

Re: Coaching Staff update

Here's another ST coaching option:
Quote:
Panthers punt special teams coach
Posted by Mike Florio on January 14, 2010 4:06 PM ET
Ted Daisher of the Eagles wasn't the only special teams coach to get treated in an unspecial way on Thursday. Danny Crossman of the Panthers also got to take the long walk to the parking lot, cardboard box full of picture frames, comic books, and Power Bars bouncing off his legs.

The Panthers announced today that Crossman has been fired.

Crossman has a year left on his deal. But since he's not being paid $6.5 million in 2010, the team apparently was willing to pay him not to work.

Crossman has been with the Panthers since 2003, coach John Fox's second year on the job.

The Panthers struggled this year on special teams, finishing 30th in kickoff coverage, 29th in punt coverage, 30th on kickoff returns, and 17th on punt returns.
How about any college ST coach's?

Re: Coaching Staff update

We should go after the guy who the Eagles let go, they have had multiple returns... Ofcourse they have great talent but the blocking has been good for them on ST for years.
