Re: Notable Injuries Around the League

Those are pretty big injuries for the Packers aren't they? Harris is their best CB isn't he?

Of course those guys must have been injured for awhile to be placed on PUP.

I'd say Charles Woodson is the best but Harris is (was) a definite starter

As I understand it, Harris' career is likely over, which is a shame. And the Ravens got former Terp DB Josh Wilson in some sort of trade today

Re: Notable Injuries Around the League

..............ever hear of this guy?

http://sports.espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/news/story?id=5529826

NEW YORK -- The New York Giants have traded for Minnesota Vikings backup quarterback Sage Rosenfels.

The Giants also acquired running back and kick returner Darius Reynaud for an undisclosed 2011 draft pick and a conditional 2012 draft choice. The Vikings announced the deal on their website. Rosenfels and Reynaud have to pass their physicals with the Giants for the trade to be finalized.

The Giants have been searching for a backup for Eli Manning since Jim Sorgi suffered a torn capsule in his right shoulder in the preseason opener against the Jets.

Rosenfels will likely be the second-string quarterback ahead of Rhett Bomar.

Bomar had been Manning's backup and has shown flashes of potential, but the second-year quarterback hasn't taken a regular-season snap yet.

Giants head coach Tom Coughlin said earlier Friday in a conference call with reporters that while he was impressed with Bomar's improvement throughout camp, the Giants weren't going to stop looking at other options.

Bomar had received extended snaps in camp and the final three preseason games due to Sorgi's injury and Manning's head laceration suffered against the Jets.

Sorgi was placed on season-ending injured reserve earlier this week.

Rosenfels became expendable with Brett Favre's recent return to the Vikings.

The 10-year veteran Rosenfels had an impressive preseason opener at St. Louis, completing 23 of 34 passes for 310 yards and three touchdowns. But he was just 8-for-17 for 92 yards with one TD in the next three games combined, and Vikings coach Brad Childress said after the preseason finale that Tarvaris Jackson would be Favre's backup again this season.

The move means that the Vikings likely will keep rookie Joe Webb as the third quarterback.

By obtaining Reynaud, the Giants addressed their need for help on kickoff and punt returns. They have been searching for a returner ever since losing Domenik Hixon to a season-ending knee injury earlier in the summer. Reynaud is a converted receiver who was trying to make the Vikings as a running back and return man. He was the team's primary punt returner during the preseason.

Re: Notable Injuries Around the League

Kendall Langford lost a 2.5 carat earring, that injures his ego and wallet a bit I'm sure

forgot to take his earrings out and lost one during drills.. man, guys wearing big diamonds in their ears is stupid enough.. wearing it just on the way to practice is even more dumb, what's he got to show off for in front of his coworkers?

Heard about that last evening. The Dolphins stopped practice and the team searched for it. The earring was valued at $50,000.00.

Aside from why you'd NEED a $50K earring, why wouldn't you remove it before playing FOOTBALL?

That really sucks for the Browns. As for the Broncos, wonder if they'll pick Fargas back up or wait for one of our cuts.

PostBroncos

For start of season? Interesting. RT @albertbreer: Wow ... Here's a rule I didn't know: RT @injuryexpert NFL confirms 6 is max on IR.

I don't know who "injuryexpert" is, but that is interesting
