Heres the write up on CNN.SI: No Positives

Negatives: Struggles in battles and gets outmatched by opponents. Was Nebraska's nickel back and never a true starting cornerback.

Projection: 7th

Great pick

Love the pick. DeJon Gomes was overshadowed by the two fantastic corners they had.

Now that's funny.

I don't get the pick. Grab Devlin or McElroy. Grab some lineman that we've never heard of. But there seems to be no place for Gomes, who seems not to be worth a space, anyway.

We won more with Vinny

Gnome is relatively fast and versatile...you can put him at SS or FS. Our safety position was complete shit last year...when Landry went down it all went to hell.

Gomes, at least, appears to be a high volume tackler. Hey, It's the 5th round!

Our inability to find talent in the mid rounds is a large part of the reason that we consistently suck.

Well, I'd break that down in 12 parts and since some of them dont make picks for the Rdeskins any more, I'm going to remain optomistic.

Yeah, I like to give the FO the benifit of the doubt. They know a lot more then we do. But with each different regime we always seem to struggle after the third round.

Re: 2011 NFL Draft: Rounds 4-7

If we have special teamers and back up DB's currently on the roster bubble then this is a decent need pick.

5th round, every write up is going to have negatives written in. In fact I think the 5th-7th round of the draft ought to have a nickname like the "Oh not THAT guy" draft

No. 146: Redskins select: DeJon Gomes, SS, Nebraska Grade
This a decent pick and will add depth to the secondary. He is likely to contribute on special teams. C+

C+? What is this my college report card?

Re: 2011 NFL Draft: Rounds 4-7

I guess the skins are looking at a glut of DL on the roster and not willing to part with some of them... Only reason I see to not take Powe at NT, other than the fact that they might not be sold on him bc of his weight issues.

Helu is 220 pounds? WTF? I think we just found Ahman Green before he went to Houston and sucked.
