I'll never forget the day we lost the Drew Brews sweepstakes to New Orleans. Oh wait, we never even tried. I forgot.
HUGE Mistake by the front office that year. If we went back and looked at it, I am sure we spent a ton of money on FAs that didnt work out anyway. Great job Vinny!

Move up to number 3 and snag RG3?

Trade a 3rd and a TE for Sanchez, and use the first pick on Blackmon, and the second rounder on BPA?

Trade down a couple times, stockpile picks, and then start filling needs with BPA with our stockpile? (we know shanahan can do this, and can evaluate talent pretty well......)

So........since the order is set in stone, and kids are declaring, and the NFL wheels keep on rollin', what do you want to happen, or what do you think will happen?
I see Mike Shanahan proceeding one of two ways: he can either trade up to draft RG3 assuming that the Colts draft Luck, or draft Luck if the Colts draft RG3. Or Shanahan and Bruce Allen can sign Matt Flynn in free agency and keep all of their draft picks. They can use their picks to stockpile like they did during last April's draft, or just stay put in each round and draft out according to team needs.

I like the idea of grabbing Flynn and trading back for more picks. Even with Flynn, I wouldn't rule out grabbing another QB in the draft, even in the early rounds. Going into next year with Flynn, Grossman and a rookie QB drafted in the first or second round sounds good to me.

Hot off the presses. I know it's Bleacher Report, but I can't get enough of the speculation on what the Skins will do in the off-season:

2012 NFL Mock Draft: Washington Redskins 7-Round Predictions | Bleacher Report

Anyone know anything about WR Damarlo Belcher from Indiana? Pre-season Biletnikoff watch list, but then got dismissed from the team? Dude is 6'5 213 LBS. Could be available in the late rounds or in free agency?

The author says that the Skins will trade their 2nd and 4th round picks this year to move up and then he makes picks for those rounds. How is that possible?

Not sure about the 2nd but we do have two 4th round picks this year.

I think he ment this years 1st and 4th round & next years 2nd round.

Just using ye olde NFL Draft Pick Value Chart tells me that to move from #6 to #2 would cost 1,000 points. That would require the Skins to pay their 2nd round and one of their 4th round picks this year plus a 2nd round pick next year. That would be the best case scenario for the Skins.

But I think the Skins would be in a bidding war to select RGIII with the #2 pick and so it would cost more than that to move up.

Bottom line: I don't think the author's draft scenario is realistic regarding the number of picks we would have after moving up. I also think that he assumed too much about good players falling to us in later rounds. He should try again.

This is actually one of the better (one of the good?) BR columnists in my opinion.

Never heard of him, but if the 'skins could land him as an undrafted free agent, I would definitely be on board.

You are right, if you go by the point scale then we would have to give up more picks.

What he suggested:

That's why I believe that a potential draft day trade could result in the Redskins sending their first-rounder and one of their fourths, in addition to their first-rounder in 2013, to the Minnesota Vikings in exchange for the third-overall pick this April.

Me: I think it will take more...and I think it's the Dolphins who will trade up for RGIII

I think it's Jones or Tannehill, possibly in a trade down. Maybe with Arizona who may be eyeing Trent Richardson

Though I spoke with someone (with knowledge) today who thinks we're going Foles in round 2 and WR in round 1 (possibly through a trade down). But he's just guessing as much as I am
