A little off-topic, but where I work is having an Equality Gala tomorrow night which is always a blast, but they are "marrying George Washington and Robert E. Lee" and this group called the flaggers got wind of this and now on their Facebook page they're saying, "Ya'll better donate bail money, because someone is going to jail tomorrow night."

Sigh. I think the wedding wasn't "necessary", but now an event that we enjoy and like the cause might turn into something like a mini-Charlottesville. 60,000 people like that flagger page and there's a LOTTTT of violent remarks on it.

Pence makes a good point about fraternization, ironically enough, in Mulan. It's something the military has issues with today. I disagree about banning women from all military role, but what specifically do you find weird about that link?

YMMV. For example, when you had kids, or knew someone with kids, you actually mean to tell me mothers weren't referred to as Mom and fathers as Dad or such, by spouses, when with the kids? Wow, if so.

The norm is eastern North Carolina is to still do that like say discussing family business with the kids even after they grow up. Most people seem to drop it in most cases as the kids get older. But OTOH grandmothers are frequently called "Granny" or "Mema" or such by all family, even among mixed company. And that's kinda cool.

Looking at articles that again breathlessly spin Pence's behavior as "weird", read the comments below where available, apparently the custom of spouses still calling each other Mom Dad or similar a lot longer than I described, is a fairly common.

If critics of Pence don't at least understand this custom, they are the weird ones. Or maybe they are just psychopaths that never had families of their own.

But of course the real reason lefties hyperventilates and calls Pence weird over this stuff is simple. This is the toxicity in politics, this time from the Left, that ruins so much.

Out of everything he's done, paying off a pornstar is the least of my issues. However, if it is the thing that brings him down I don't have a problem with it. That assumes he used campaign funds to pay her off.

S/N the whole "I paid you 130k to say nothing, so by saying something happened you're violating the agreement that nothing happened which is why I paid you 130k, so now I'm suing for 20 mil for violating the agreement which was made using fake names and my client didn't even sign" shitshow is hilarious IMO. Not definitively sure, I think it varies state-to-state, but those hush-hush agreements aren't always legally binding. Will be interesting to see how it plays out, but even if he did use campaign funds I don't think it will get much play.
