That was a great play all around.
100% agree

Re: JC is not what I thought.

I am glad that Jason got a win yesterday and he was the one that got it done because I feel that people in this town are too tempermental and they want things done right away and want him to be great right off the bat. I am glad that he got the win and he delivered in great fashion. I do agree with Riggins that he can't let this get to his head because we don't want a let down at home against the Cardinals. We need to protect homefield advantage on this one.

Re: JC is not what I thought.

In addition, some fans need to back off and stop with this we need Colt Brennan now. It ain't going to happen unless Campbell and Collins go down and I don't see that happening. I am pleased for Jason Campbell and I think that he is going to be good and people need to show some patients because all the games won't be like yesterday. There are going to be some growing pains, but I think that this is going in the right direction.

Re: JC is not what I thought.

Ignorance is bliss. To compare Jason to Vick is ridiculous. JC is a much better pocket passer. To say this is his first 300 yard game. Further proves my point. He has had more than one good game. But sometimes other things cause you to lose games. Dropped balls. Poor run defense and other variables. NO one is hyping JC up to be Montana or Elway.

Some fans are just tired of all the uneducated bashing. I can throw one game out there and a couple more but the Detroit game last year was one of his good performances also. But this is a team sport. For those bashing JC realize that even his last game wasn't as bad as people made it out to be (no turnovers - decent completion percentage) and he made signifigant improvement this game. Getting the ball out quicker and receivers were helping him by getting open and we had a better run game. Comparing him to Vick draws the conclusion of why you really hate him. Because they are nothing alike.

No one is blowing this win out of proportion. It just proves that all the haters don't know football. This thread is idiotic.

Re: JC is not what I thought.

OK, since we can't leave stuff alone. Here is what I was drawing the comparison from.

How many times did Vick miss a deep target?

How many times did Vicks receivers drop passes when he did hit them?

How many times was Vick accused of holding the ball too long?

Do any of the above questions seem familiar?

I was never comparing the abilities of the two QB's, I was comparing the similar problems and scrutiny due to those problems.

Furthermore, when Vick had that one great game, he sat down at his press conference and told the press that his performance that day should shut up all of the critics because he had proved that he could pass in the pocket. (PARAPHRASING)

In reality he only shut them up for a week because the very next game, it was the same old Vick, missing the deep ones and having his WR's drop the rest.

Campbell did an OUTSTANDING job this week. But can he do it again, and again, and again?

Re: JC is not what I thought.

It's amazing how much people flip flop on JC. I was at the game, up in section 412, and there were these guys sitting behind me, and after every failed play that involved JC, this guy would just trash him. He'd start talking about how Colt Brennan should be playing, how long it's been and JC still sucks, etc. Then the 4th quarter bomb happened and this dude starts celebrating and telling all his friends how he knew deep down that JC has it. I'm sure there are people on this board exactly like that too.

That's why after every game, win or lose, I pretty much remind myself that they aren't as horrible as they look, or in the case of a winning game, they aren't as good as they look.

It's pretty easy to flip flop when JC has been so inconsistent. However, I have never seen him play the way he played on Sunday. There hasn't been a game prior that I came away feeling that good about him. I didn't see much in that game that he did wrong, so I'm surprised you heard a guy screaming for Colt at all.

Wise pointed out the same thing in this article

I wish this article would be posted on here. That is sad. How fickle some fans are.

Excerpt from article:

He was skewered, from the lout beneath the press box in Section 107, one level up from the field, who cupped his mouth like a megaphone and shouted, "Jason, you're not our franchise quarterback!" to the cretin behind his own bench.

"That guy would say, 'Come on, Jason, throw the ball downfield,' " Campbell said. "Or he would stand up and yell, 'Jason, you [stink].' Real nice, huh? You tune it out, but . . . "
It's unclear whether the fan was the same man high-fiving his friends repeatedly after Santana Moss skipped into the end zone with the football and victory in his hands. Or whether that was the same fan telling everyone in his vicinity how he always knew Campbell had not only the mental and physical wherewithal to pick up a complex, new system but also the gumption to throw a clutch bomb in the crucible of a home

Talking about flip-floppers!! lol RIDICULOUS

LOL you'd be suprised. After an overthrow, a sack, any kind of negative play that involved JC you would've been hearing 2-3 guys calling for Collins or Brennan.

He wasn't perfect, but compared to his play previously? OMG, it was like night and day. That kid was fighting for his job out there and he did very well. I just hope he keeps it up!

Yeah compared to bad days' of his it was a great day for him by any standard, but some fans want perfection which is ridiculous.

Re: JC is not what I thought.

One thing that's bothered me is what exactly has he done to warrant all the criticism ANYWAY? He's been pretty consistent over the years that he's started and that includes a fairly dated offensive scheme he was running.

It's almost like people were taking that first Giants game and acting like that's the only one that "counted" when it comes to JC.

Don't get me going. He has done plenty. But this is happy JC time.

Well people did have last years loosing streak from last year before he got hurt and preseason and the Giants game where he just looked lost. To say he has been pretty consistent over the past few years is a streetch but I hope he can build off this win.
