Re: 2012 NFL Draft Prospects
This guy is peeking my interest. Knew of him before but after hearing McShay and Kiper talk about him I decided to follow up. Interesting guy to say the least.

Re: 2012 NFL Draft Prospects
Surprisingly...you're wrong. As noted we have the Vikings 6th round pick from the McNabb trade. Our own 6th went to Arizona for Hightower

Re: 2012 NFL Draft Prospects
I wonder what Bruce Allen's and Mike Shanahan's draft strategy is with the remaining draft picks from the 3rd round to the 7th round. Since the Rams have both of our 1st and second round picks, I'm hoping that the Redskins can make our 3rd round pick valuable to use it to trade back and acquire a few extra draft picks unless there's a player of value that can be drafted in the 3rd round.

Re: 2012 NFL Draft Prospects
Because with our luck we'll need to develop a quality backup. Moore would be great and if we're lucky we could turn him around and trade him for a couple of picks 3 or 4 years down the line.

Re: 2012 NFL Draft Prospects
Round 1) Robert Griffin... obvious choice
Round 3) A lot of late second rounders and 3rd rounders but my first choice would be Amini Silatolu, seems like your typical lineman who didn't go to a big school but is still very good. Him or Trumaine Johnson from Montana, both might be gone though but its the 70th pick and Silatolu is rated 65th overall and Johnson is rated 70th overall. Another great choice would be Markelle Martin, saw him play and was impressed. Round 4) Nate Potter... very good tackle, Kellen Moore was able to stay healthy for as long as he did mainly cause of this guy. Round 4) Joe Adams... could go nate potter or joe adams but both are very good players. Adams in the senior bowl stood out, fumbled then responded very well which shows a lot about his mentality and heart. Round 5) Ryan Broyles... amazing slot receiver would have gone in the top two rounds before injury. Supposedly recovering very nicely. Landry Jones wasn't the same without him, shows his value. Round 7) Kellen Moore/Cliff Harris, just for a backup Cliff Harris has been dropping on a lot of boards but was impressive a couple of years ago. Obviously the focus of this draft will be on the offense, and a lot of these are hopeful picks based on where they are projected to go but anything can happen on draft day. But I love the draft so hopefully we get quality players. Last edited by donofriose; 03-12-2012 at 10:25 AM. |

Re: 2012 NFL Draft Prospects
You could probably argue either way whether Moore or Griffin enjoyed the better college career. They were both sensational. And if not for Cam Newton, they both might have won a Heisman.

Amini Silatolu Highlights - YouTube
That Silotou guy from midwestern state is a real eyebrow raiser...Dude is a straight up mauler, reminds me of Jahri Evans meets Mike Iupati..definitely would be a day 1 starter at Guard for us.

Re: 2012 NFL Draft Prospects
Kellen Moore was a great college QB but, if you're going to go with a short QB, why not go with one who is faster, sturdier, more mobile, and has a better arm - namely Russell Wilson. I think Wilson is a much better fit for the offense we run.

I'm a big Markelle Martin fan also, so I wouldn't mind if the Skins picked him in the 3rd Round. Picking Broyles is a great idea. If Ryan Broyles is healthy, I wouldn't mind the Skins taking him in the 3rd either. He could be outstanding in the slot and he's also a PR. I wouldn't wait beyond the 4th Round to snag Broyles. As far as OL are concerned, I think we could get a solid OG prospect as late as the 6th round. I like Potter, as well, but at OG. Other OG prospects I like who might be had in the 6th include Adam Gettis, Lonnie Edwards, and Stephen Good. I'd like to see the Skins get London Fletcher's eventual replacement so the rook can learn from the master, so I'd target Tank Carder in the 4th Round. I think he'd make a very good ILB. I'm hoping we can get Russell Wilson in the 5th Round. Cliff Harris might be a good player to take a chance on in the 7th Round. So: 1. QB RGIII 3. FS Markelle Martin 4. WR/PR Ryan Broyles 4. ILB Tank Carder 5. QB Russell Wilson 6. OG Lonnie Edwards 7. CB Cliff Harris |

Re: 2012 NFL Draft Prospects
Not saying that we should draft Russell Wilson, because I think drafting 2 QBs in the same draft creates more trouble then benefit on a team without an established QB.
But with that being said Wilson has been one of my favorite college QB prospects and here's some high praise from his pro-day: Quote:
