Yes, to your second point of if we don't re-sign fred. Cook and Keller are great second options and are great receiving TEs. Draft wise their are lots of TEs to be had from the late first to the 7th round.

Re: 2013 Free Agents
Smoot already gave you guys a good tip, McKelvin, who will be alot more reasonable.
Byrd is not going to happen unless the skins want to make him the highest paid safety in NFL history.... I believe the bills can still tag him if they get nervous. He is one of the top 2 or 3 FA period, we don't have the cap space for someone like him. |

I think we have a great chance of obtaining Byrd if he doesn't get tagged. The fact that we are now a playoff caliber team will be a factor. I also think the RG3 effect will be a factor for free agents now wanting to come to DC.

Re: 2013 Free Agents
Also if Rolando McClain is released I would want to pick him up. He would do well in our system and eventualy replace LF. Raiders often misuse talented players.

Re: 2013 Free Agents
Call me crazy but I'd bring LaRon back now that he's apparently healthy. He missed the team bus in Week 17 and had his snaps limited by the tattooed whale, so he's probably open to leaving New Jersey.

Re: 2013 Free Agents
I wouldn't bring back Landry -- I still think his health isn't enough of a certainty, and he had the habit of going for the knockout punch instead of the sure tackle -- kind of the strong safety equivalent of Hall. But I think we definitely need someone more physical in the safety position, and some better speed at free safety. Merriweather brings both, but we likely need an addition at strong safety. Who the heck knows what will happen with T. Jackson.
I also think considering moving Hall to safety (where coverage is a bit easier) isn't a bad idea. He apparently said he knows he has a big cap number and would re-structure to stay. And I thought he stepped up pretty well during the latter part of the season. Plus, we cannot fix everything in the secondary in the off season. It will be interesting to see if Bernstine can return healthy -- we never really got a good look at the rook. For offseason stuff, modest moves in the secondary, some more O-line depth (we cannot assume that we'd be able to keep that line as healthy as we did this year -- it was pretty amazing how well that came together), and perhaps some more RB depth (unless we're sure that Helu can come back healthy and stay that way) would seem to make sense. |

Safety in Round 3 is great but a WR in round 5 and no offensive line until Round 6? Also, no CB is an issue unless we're going through FA. I can understand a late WR pick because our guys did drop way balls this year.
