McCaffrey is visiting. Great article by Keim

highlights:

He could be an excellent complement to both Kelley and Chris Thompson. McCaffrey is bigger than Thompson and faster and quicker than Kelley. He’s also more versatile, with an ability to run routes from the slot or out wide. It’s one thing to line up out there; it’s another to run good routes from multiple spots. That’s what separates McCaffrey

When Thompson enters the game, defenses almost always are in a sub package. With McCaffrey, the Redskins could regulate a defense, keeping it in a base look by using a two-tight end, two-receiver set. They could then create mismatches in the passing game with these targets: McCaffrey, tight ends Jordan Reed and Vernon Davis and receivers Jamison Crowder and Terrelle Pryor (or Josh Doctson).

CBS Sports draft analyst Dane Brugler compared McCaffrey to ex-Eagles running back Brian Westbrook. Their dimensions are almost identical (McCaffrey is an inch taller; Westbrook was a pound heavier). Another name that I’ve heard, in terms of how McCaffrey should be used: Reggie Bush. A swiss-army knife back, but perhaps not great as just a runner.
Excellent post Chico. A lot of mocks have us picking him right now. I saw one mock that had us picking Watson, Clemson QB, thinking it might give us more leverage with Cousins and if Cousins ends up walking we have a QB who might end up being very good. Cleveland needs a QB and has 2 1st round picks including #1 which they'll use on Miles Garrett because you just can't pass him up. Do you think we could package a deal for their 2 #1's and get Garrett and Watson? Would you do it? I want Cousins here but I'm not sure wtf management is thinking.

yeah, a Faulk-type talent would be too much to pass by. I'm thinking he'll be gone by #17, but if he isn't, we should pounce.

Re: 2017 Draft Prospects

No Trades on this one, but I really like how this draft scenario played out...

'Skins get the best ILB in the draft
'Skins get the best C in the draft
we get an uber-athletic 3-4 DE (Brantley)
2 big bodies that can play true NT in the 3-4 (Tomlinson & Stevie T)

Your score is: 13000 (GRADE: A-)

Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 17: Reuben Foster, ILB, Alabama (A+)
Round 2 Pick 17: Caleb Brantley, DT, Florida (A)
Round 3 Pick 17: Pat Elflein, C/OG, Ohio State (A)
Round 4 Pick 7: Dalvin Tomlinson, DT, Alabama (A)
Round 4 Pick 17: Kareem Hunt, RB, Toledo (A-)
Round 5 Pick 10: Shaquill Griffin, CB, UCF (B)
Round 6 Pick 17: Josh Reynolds, WR, Texas A&M (A+)
Round 6 Pick 25: Storm Norton, OT, Toledo (B)
Round 7 Pick 2: Stevie Tu'ikolovatu, DT, Southern California (A-)
Round 7 Pick 17: Tedric Thompson, SS, Colorado (B-)

You should try a realistic draft sometime.

Re: 2017 Draft Prospects

I've heard a lot of people mention that the Redskins should draft a QB at some point in the draft as insurance/leverage with Cousins. Where in the draft and what QB would be your choice?

I really think its a bad draft for QBs in the first half, not a lot of good, high potential guys. I think there is value after round 4. I like Chad Kelly in the 5th, 6th round.
