Re: Redskins Mock Draft
Just saw that we are trading our 2nd and both 3rd round picks for Rosen. Source: April Fool's Day.

In today's unrealistic mock, Haskins slips to 15 and causes the Skins to go Ohio State for three rounds in a row.

This article makes several assumptions but is really interesting. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

Re: Redskins Mock Draft
I like the article and it makes a lot of sense. I agree whatever happens don't trade up. And if there isn't a player the Skins really need at #15, take a good deal to move back. But if BPA is a team need then draft the guy rather than trade back for value. Teams need to build around 2-3 blue chip players to create the right chemistry and elevate the play of the guys around them. If you end up with a roster full of good but not great players, you end up with mediocrity; who do the up and coming players look/play up to, to make themselves better.
I say that given our cap and QB situation, we don't draft a QB at 15, we grab a clear standout WR or the best OL available, then look at trading down our 2nd pick if there's no clear selection at 46. Then pick up a QB in round 3 as a longer term backup with a view to the ultimate starter (hopefully franchise) QB being in next years draft. If we pick up a standout WR then Doctson et al will only benefit this year, and moreso next year, if only because they take some of the attention off the #2 & #3 WR. If we pick up a standout OL, then you have another TW ready to step up as he fades (Scherff is potential multiple PB material, but I don't see him taking a real leadership role so far). Ultimately, every NFL roster is the best that college has produced, but you need some 'best of the best' guys always around no matter how good your coaching is. I think they only guys we have that fit that mould on the current roster are Kerrigan and Williams (on the basis Smith is out this year and likely gone altogether, and only just fit in the same bracket anyway). Maybe guys like Allen, Payne, Guice etc. will step up in the next year or so. But I say get a guy that can lead his positional unit from the front, if not the whole team. For that, you have to pick someone at 15. Trade back and you may well get 2-3 roster spots filled with good players, but you won't improve the team a hell of a lot over drafting the right guy in the 1st round. |

Re: Redskins Mock Draft
Less than a month to the draft (aka Redskins Super Bowl)!
Biggest questions, do we draft a QB, and if so, what round?

Re: Redskins Mock Draft
2019 Draft Ranking position groups stronges to weakest.
Interior Offensive Line #3 strongest group. Jonah Williams is my dream pick, put him at LG. Blue chip, day one starter, future pro bowler. The stars might align. But our FO will draft a WR or some shit. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300...est-to-weakest |
