Re: And the Skins hating continues...
Shockingly, I'm looking at Pete Prisco as an example of a relatively balanced analysis of the game:
http://cbs.sportsline.com/nfl/story/9151277 He doesn't sugar-coat it... the win *was* ugly. But he doesn't take anything away from the defense, either, like the tool in question at SI. |

Re: And the Skins hating continues...
I just watched the post game show (I was too busy celebrating last night) and all Berman, Young & co did was bash the Redskins and say how much they sucked and didn't deserve to win the game. No respect. Even if we win next week The Skins won't get any respect...

Re: And the Skins hating continues...
Football is a team sport, with the team being defense, offense and special teams. When one squad struggles, the others step it up. That's what happened at Tampa. The TEAM won and the TEAM is going to Seattle!
The Redskins ended the regular season 10-2 against NFC teams. They are the class of the conference. They did not need offense to beat Tampa Bay. SI might have noted that. "Spit happens." That was a good one. Last edited by Master4Caster; 01-08-2006 at 11:37 AM. |

And maybe instead of cracking on Portis for talking about his shoulder injury-- a topic which a reporter brought up at the press conference, by the way-- maybe the guy should compliment him for continuing to go back for more punishment against the #1 defense; playing though the pain and battling for the hard-earned yards when his team needed him down the stretch. Portis didn't present his shoulder injury as an excuse, either. He pretty much brushed it off, saying it's just something he's going to have to play through until the season is over. He didn't try to make a big deal about it. This Skins-hating reporter just tried to make it sound like Portis was making excuses, which wasn't the case at all. Maybe he should have noted that Portis aggravated the injury when he knocked Shelton Quarles on his butt, doing with devastating efficacy what most runningbacks shy away from-- pass-blocking. Portis, while being a 1500 yard rusher, also pass blocks better than darn near any fullback in the league. Portis is one of the toughest dudes you'll ever meet. To suggest he's using injuries as an excuse is downright ignorant. Apparently, this guy hasn't figured out that anything over 3 yards a carry against the #1 defense ain't too shabby. Particularly when the Bucs were putting 10 men at the line of scrimmage at times, knowing the Skins were in conservative, ball-control mode. That was just a weak, ill-founded article by a feeble-minded writer.

Re: And the Skins hating continues...
wow, this guy is a total prick. he gives no credit whatsoever to the skins. to top it all off, he called the two skins interceptions flukes and then he goes on to say that the bucs have a good future and the skins will lose next week. this guy either lost money, is a bucs fan, hates the skins or all three combined.
but the skins won the game and the bucs stay home, so screw that guy.

Re: And the Skins hating continues...
This guy doesn't know jack shit, he's basically accusing Portis of faking his shoulder injury.
As we've all seen this year, CP is one of the toughest SOB's to have ever put on a Redskins uniform. He must have really been hurting to miss so many snaps like he did. |
