Re: When Gibbs is gone
I think Gibbs will be here for the duration of his contract and if he doesn't win a ring, I can conceivably see him re-upping for 2 years. He wants a championship here badly. However, if the Redskins win the SB, I see G. Williams stepping in as HC with Saunders remaining as the OC and G. Blache moving into the DC position. I don't think any of the assistants will leave due to the fact that Snyder will compensate them handsomely to stay. Redskins are in good shape for the future.

Re: When Gibbs is gone
When Williams re-signed, a lot of us thought that must have been what Gibbs was talking about when he had said a few weeks prior that Snyder made a decision that was going to cost him lots of money, but would be good for the team. Now I'm thinking maybe it was actually the decision to go after Saunders.

At his introductory press conference he was introduced as coach, and president of the team. Let's hope it is his ambition to wear that title for a long time, hopefully for much longer than his coaching days. However, when the time comes for him to make a decision about his coaching future the table is set for the team to be better suited than when he left last time. |

Re: When Gibbs is gone
Gibbs was brought in to make the redskins a contender again. He may not have done it on offense, but he's certainly done it with the team and coaching staff he has assembled. As someone pointed out previously - the new coaching staff hire isn't just about making a run at the super bowl next year - its about being a powerhouse for a long time to come.
