Re: Randle El is the receiver we need to persure

KR can return kicks but last I checked he isn't as athletic. I am pretty sure he can't be relied on to throw options or take reverses and make a play. I think KR could be a great downfield threat but I also think he could end up roaming his neighborhood naked and babbling with steak knife wounds all over him. That diminishes his value a bit. Randle El might be more expensive but probably not terribly much more and he doesn't have nay character issues that I know of. He probably isn't the potential downfield threat of KR but he does other things that the Skins could use nicely. Curtis is intriguing but again ARE seems to have a few more tricks in his bag than Curtis. ARE would also be cheaper than Moulds I think. Moulds is a vet with something left in the tank. Somone will pony up for him. |

Curtis is an RFA and would cost a 3rd rounder, but he'd be worth it. |

Re: Randle El is the receiver we need to pursue
My concern with the "smurfs" analogy is that I believe DB's (along with everyone else in the NFL) have gotten bigger since the 80's. For this reason I would prefer someone larger. With the amount of attention Moss receives, I would prefer someone who can get a jump ball when they are in single coverage.

As far as Randle El goes, don't forget -- Bill Cowher and the Steeler organization has never bent over backwards to make sure they retain key players -- Kendrell Bell, Plaxico. They have always been able to find adequate replacements.

Re: Randle El is the receiver we need to pursue
I would love to have Randle El, I think he would be great addition & help our passing game greatly. I've heard the Bears are also very interested in him, hopefully we get him.

Height doesn't mean shit. If you didn't already know, Santana Moss has a 42 in vertical. The man has some serious hops.

by the way
FRPLG...lets dish the T.O. idea. Gibbs has no room for that ego on his roster. |

Re: Randle El is the receiver we need to pursue
I think the most important asset for the #2 wide receiver is the most basic:
Good Hands I think that was Taylor Jacobs' downfall. He couldn't hold on to the football. I KNOW that was Rod Gardner's problem. Size and speed are great but what if they just can't catch it and hold it when they get speared by the SS. IMO, good hands are what set Moss and Cooley apart this year.
