Re: Musgrave Moving On?
No one is actually arguing for Ramsey are they???
Losing Musgrave won't matter. What will Danny do with that extra million???? I don't worry about Saunders coming in because he will run a variation of Gibbs' offense. I am sure Saunders has a QB coach in mind. I really wouldn't be surprised if there was some more coaching turnover. They have so many guys it is bound to happen. The big guns are there and that is what really matters. |

Re: Musgrave Moving On?
Looks like a done deal now.
http://www.ajc.com/sports/content/sp...25falcons.html Michael Vick has a new tutor and the Falcons finally have a new quarterbacks coach. Bill Musgrave, who most recently coached quarterbacks with the Washington Redskins, was hired by Atlanta Tuesday, coach Jim Mora said. Musgrave, who interviewed for roughly three hours Tuesday morning with Mora and offensive coordinator Greg Knapp, was scheduled to take a real estate tour before returning to Washington Tuesday afternoon and was unavailable for comment. He begins his new job Monday, Mora said. Musgrave replaces Mike Johnson, whose contract was not renewed after the season. Musgrave's hire was deemed 'huge' by Mora because he has played and coached in the West Coast scheme the Falcons utilize. Musgrave was a backup to Steve Young with the San Francisco 49ers and to John Elway in Denver. Mora also said Musgrave can offer some new perspective to the Falcons' system because he has served as an offensive coordinator in Philadelphia, Carolina, Jacksonville and the University of Virginia, where he coached Falcons backup quarterback Matt Schaub. Having played quarterback in the NFL also should help Musgrave relate to the team?s young quarterbacks, Mora said. Mora even went so far as to say that Musgrave's knowledge of what the Falcons want to do with their quarterbacks is already so sound, that Knapp can relinquish some of his control of coaching quarterbacks and concentrate more on formulating the entire offense and weekly game plans.

Re: Musgrave Moving On?
Brunell's numbers are what they are, I really don't see what's so bad with 3050 yards, 23 TDs and 10 INTs.

Re: Musgrave Moving On?
With Musgrave going to the Falcons, I guess this thread is dead? oh well, on to the next anti-Brunell post! So much pro-Ramsey swill to post...............so little time.

Re: Musgrave Moving On?
I'd just love for Brunell to stay healthy all season OR if he DOES get hurt to have the balls to say that he's hurting the team and step down.

Agreed, the problem is some players wont come out regardless for whatever reason, it's up to the coach to deciede whether or not his play is hurting the team? Not continue to play him and then use his injury, or apparent injury as an excuse as to why he played so poorly after the fact. |

It's definetely done: even the Post has it!
Musgrave Leaving Redskins for Falcons Wonder if Saunders will bring someone in--or maybe Gibbs himself will do it?

Re: Musgrave Moving On?
Well, there's one less chef in the kitchen now. I always had the feeling that Musgrave was more or less just passing through. If you look at his resume, he has rarely stayed in one place very long. As far as I can tell his longest stint was two years at UVA. I also notice in the Press Guide that he coached with Buges in 1997 at Oakland. I did not know that.
I don't expect any more departures from the Offensive staff. Anyone disagree? I also like the idea of bringing in Monty Burns... "One hiawatha, two hiawatha... Smithers! No more doughnuts for Arrington! Yeeeesh!"
