Re: HD Projectors??? Help

Projector Central is good, but check AVS Forum to get started:
http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/forumdisplay.php?f=68

You'll be able to see what the top 2-3 options are, and then start from there. If you are in the DC area, check out ritzav.com. They have a showroom in MD and can show you several side-by-side. A couple of caveats, though, are that you need to have a short list before you go in there, and don't let them show you something out of your price range.

I had a Panny 75u for a while (84" screen) but got rid of it when we moved in favor of a 50" DLP rear projection. Now, of course, I'm ready to switch it out again.

avsforum is a really good site. I'd also recommend using it.

42" or 50" plasma. The DLP, although slim, is too deep for the room. With the price drop in plasmas over the past year, it's time to take the plunge!

You have quite a mixture of LCD and DLP projectors there. Do you see DLP rainbows? Is black level extremely important to you? How about pixel fill (a/k/a screen door effect)? Different technologies have different benefits, so it may help to pick a technology first.

Re: HD Projectors??? Help

I like the deep blacks on my DLP, but I see the rainbows so it's a bit annoying. The technologies are getting closer, so (and I hate it when people say this) a lot of it just comes down to personal preference.
