Thanks for noticing. I just fixed it.

I really don't think Champ would have been here even if we had Anderson. Champ didn't wanted to stay!

Do we really need TEs? I for one like our current group.

I think a good tight end could do wonders for our offense and compensate for our lack of depth at WR. What I particularly love about tight ends is their versatility. Tight ends can help in the running game, pass protection, red zone, and receiving in general. They are particularly valuable in a run-first offense, give coordinators more permutations in the playbook to work with than receivers, and increase an offense's unpredictability.

As you can see, I'm a little biased. But I am particularly emphatic about getting tight-ends right now; they're cheap and we need cap room and they're available in this deep TE draft pool (whereas a starting-caliber WR will not be).

Plus, our current group isn't all that deep. Sellers is more of a fullback than tight end. Royal is decent, but not a quality starter. Johnson is an unknown quantity. And I can't really speak to Kozlowski. So, what would happen if Cooley went down? Our offense would be struggling big time.

Does anyone know what T. Prices status is. Like are the Broncos expecting him to return?

What? Williams was relegated to second string after two years. Man, if a top 5 pick is getting cut before his first contract expires he has got some serious problems.

we run a lot of two TE sets and right now we have cooley and johnson (who in his firt year had one catch for 4 yards). royal isn't under contract and probably won't be back without a new cba.

yeah. i'm surpried charles rodgers hasn't been shown the door yet. his contract is absolutely awful and he's worthless. sometimes you just get a bust though i guess.

he's been cut and the broncos are still over the cap right now, so without a new cba, i doubt it.

bugel isn't superman, he's a good OL coach. Some players just flat out suck.
otherwise i'd be first in line to give it a shot.

cross-sports example: Kwame Brown was taken #1 overall. But his stats indicate he should be bounced from the league immediately. just causse a guy is taken high doesn't mean he'll be any good. Ryan Leaf et al.

Re: Recent League Salary Cap Cuts

We once drafted a dude named Wally Kleine out of Notre Dame back in the late '80s. He was an offensive tackle taken in the second round and was 6'9" 320 lbs (a real monster back in those days). But he never started and he ended up staying with us for only a few years before getting out of football altogether. I think Bugel was the o-line coach back in those days, but he couldn't get Kleine to measure up to his potential. I'm not saying Bugel isn't a good coach, but a player must have the motivation, character, and work ethic to improve before a coach can fix his problems. That might be the problem with Mike Williams from the Bills.
