Re: Would you accept TO?
I talked to 3 Dallas fans yesterday about the same thing. After disrespecting their team by celebrating a touchdown on their MIDFIELD STAR !!!! One of the most satisfying sports moments in my life by the way. He didn't stop there though, after he went to the Eagles he did the same thing on the helmet in the endzone. The Cowboys fans said that he would do it in Washington to kind of prove himself . The Skins fans lauhed becasuse we knew he would nearly be killed from a Sean Taylor hit, causing Taylor to get the keys to Dan Snyders house. I know it would never happen but it made us laugh for about 10 miniutes.

Re: Would you accept TO?
I'll bet a lot of Dallas fans will be a little upset at his signing. After a while when TO comes in nice and quiet with his little hands folded in his lap sitting just behind and to the left of Daddy Parcells Dallas fans will start to accept him. He'll score 3 TD's in one of the first few games (not verus us). The Dallas fans will raise him up on their shoulders. Then the Cowboys will play the Redskins and Sean Taylor will hit him so hard that TO cries...forever!
"TO, why are you crying?" "Sean hit me!" "TO, that was 27 years ago!" |

Re: Would you accept TO?
Every Dallas fan i know is a scumbag, including my father, and they have no integrity. So i anticipate alot of excitement. And then The Tuna will meet Terrel, and the entire world will explode.

Re: Would you accept TO?
My wife is a cowpokes fan & she seems to think parcells can tighten him up a la keyshawn. Which may be true, after all he's about on his last leg. as someone pointed out, he's getting to the age where he'll slow, especially if he gets injured or banged up.
The catch 22 of an incentive laden contract for TO is that if he performs well & meets the incentives he'll want to renegotiate for guaranteed $. I see him goin to the boys & behavin for a while, but before long he'll get pissed that he's not the center of attention there. He really is a child emotionally, can't stand not to get attention, even if its all negative. Since parcells gets most of the press there followed by R. Williams, I wonder who TO would lash out at. Probably bledsoe, TO seems to like to go after his own qb, & Bledsoe fits the profile; a classy guy who probably would let a lot slide before saying anything. I also think he'll burn us a time or two, but as long as we get the last laugh & ST gets to rough him up I'll be all the happier. |

Re: Would you accept TO?
I would be tempted to sign him, if I were in charge of a last-place team with no passing game. But if I were in charge of a team like the redskins and put some thought into it, there would be no reason to consider him. The redskins at this point, don't need a playmaker at wide receiver with his type of risk issues.
There are a lot of major risks involved with him. It would be easier to gamble with a last-place team than a contending team - you would have less to lose, and a lot more to gain. I don't know what the broncos, cowboys of this league are thinking. I don't know, but it seems like they're not (thinking). |

Re: Would you accept TO?
If I were a Cowboy fan, I would be very worried, but not because of the Dallas Star incident. I thought that was pretty cool!
Teams sign players from rivals all the time. The Redskins welcomed Sam Huff, Jean Fugett, Duane Thomas, Deion Sanders and Jerimiah Trotter from East rivals. Owens is different. TO is a narcissistic egomaniac with a track record of disrupting team cohesion - one of those intangibles you can't define but can kill you if you don't have it. At some point, things won't go well. Will Terrible Owens help the team turn around, or make it worse? The risk is that he'll make it worse (and I hope he does). Owens can help you big and hurt you big at the same time. The Cowboy fans will give him a chance on a short lease. Then again, that's Texas, where men are men, and sheep are worried. |

Re: Would you accept TO?
I don't know. I am not so worried about having TO against us, I think our secondary can contain him.
I am not however on the TO is a A**hole bandwagon either. I think he was (an a**hole) but like someone said he is getting older now and this is probally his last chance to make any more big money. I don't think he is the kind of player who wants a ring more than money. So I think he will quiet down, make touchdowns and make money. |

Re: Would you accept TO?
you know what... third time may be a charm... or maybe he's waiting to see what he can really do to screw up an organization.
Seriously though. I kind of feel for owens because it really does seem like he has some emotional and maybe mental issues, but I would never give him the benefit of the doubt and let him ruin an entire team. |
