It looks more and more like this case has only gotten this far because the prosecutor has either an ax to grind or is looking for the publicity. Think about: he brings charges against a famous athlete, who has a completely clean record, for pointing a gun during argument at three career criminals who most likely stole the his property. I mean it just sounds dumb to begin with. Now we find out that he was posting links to articles about his press coverage and apparently not even actually going to work since somehow he failed to realize that the three "victims" in the case had since each been charge with commiting felonies. Including stealing an ATV(where have we heard that before?). Everytime they step into court this prosecutor looks more and more like he needs to find a new job.

Perhaps he should just go with the DJ thing full time.

Unfortunately my job prohibits me from viewing the extremeskins and most other sports related site. Could someone paste the article in this site, please. Thanks

Re: The Return to Innocence: Sean Taylor

The following is a transcription of a conversation I had with Richard Sharpstein at approximately 12:50 p.m. CST, Wednesday, April 12.

After briefly outlining the events reported today by the AP -- i.e. that the case was continued again, that the defense HAS a motion it is considering filing as to Grieco's moonlighting, but it didn't file it today, having tipped off some press last night -- including Jason La Canfora at the Post -- so many could copy down the information we began chatting -- and asked if we knew he had a MySpace page out there with some of this stuff.

Q: Actually, if you can believe it, we had links to Mr. Grieco's MySpace page a couple of weeks ago. We see it has changed rather dramatically looking at it today.

Quote:
Luckily we have a CD burned of the whole site.

But, he asked for a continuance today on personal grounds, not because of his web site. He has some family matters to deal with. We didn’t file the motion (pertaining to the web site) today as we have to research it. We tipped off some media last night so they could see this live and could know it was coming.

My wife and I (Janice Burton Sharpstein) announced publicly that Mr. Grieco was using his web site in his work as a DJ as a commercial enterprise, using his celebrity prosecutions to help him -- chiefly Sean. He had a link to click to his press coverage that mostly took you to news articles of Sean. He was using Sean's good name promoting a case that should not have been brought from Day 1 in order to promote himself with these young girls who like to hang around him.

There was lewd and lascivious depictions of behavior (on his site). He had a 10-year-old boy rapping and swearing obscenities. A girl pictured had on a T-Shirt stating, “I ****ed the DJ and only got this lousy T-Shirt.” All around the site there were pictures of him with girls, girls with dildos and all sorts of inappropriate things.

Aside from it being horrific, unprofessional and pornographic (Grieco) as a prosecutor, he’s sworn to evaluate cases on the merits. Here, he’s using it for his own personal gain.

As you know, we’ve already had one motion (to dismiss) due to the criminal history of the people involved in this case. We’re not talking about one crime. We’re talking multiple criminal offenses. I’ve said all of them are either in jail, on their way to jail or should be in jail. Ryan Hill, one of the “victims” in the case has already hired a civil lawyer to sue Sean. He’s gone from thievery to legal thievery. He and two of the other men involved in the case were stopped on March 3 driving a pickup down U.S. 1 with a stolen ATV in the back. They said it was theirs, but it was reported as stolen.

Grieco has an obligation as the prosecutor to know these things. He says he didn’t know, but, he has a legal obligation. An uninterested, unbiased prosecutor would never prosecute this case. If Sean Taylor wasn’t the defendant, this case would have been out the window six months ago.

Let me tell you something else about Grieco. He fashions himself as the NFL prosecutor. He’s weaseled his way onto the Barrett Robbins case (Robbins is the former Oakland center who went crazy, missed the Super Bowl and had a run in with the law in Florida). When the case came open, Grieco stepped up and took it, saying he was the NFL prosecutor.

I know the state attorney will have something to say about this later.

Q: Did you tip off anyone in the D.C. media?

Quote:
Yes. I spoke to Jason (La Canfora) because Grieco has been in his ear. So, we got into his other ear. Last night we tipped Jason so he’d have a chance to see the site before the destruction.

Q: Are you the lead attorney?

Quote:
I would say my wife and are the lead attorneys. We took the lead once we got involved. I want to say the reason we got involved is because Sean’s father is a chief of police. We represent police who get in trouble. We’re known for that. Also, Sean went to high school with my daughters. My wife always felt he was such a fine young man and always came and participated in activities. He never got in trouble down here. His reputation in town is nothing but super. On the football field he’s tough, but, he’s a very good person.

Q: I have to ask one question from the fans. Have you ever had a case that has been this much of a “gimmee”?

Quote:
(Laughing, then turning kind of serious) You know what, no case is easy to win, but once we pound a case into smithereens (like this one) let’s just say once we’ve discovered their playbook and dissected their plays, their offense is pretty transparent.

Thanks Hooskins, I really appreciate being able to view this article. I feel a lot better about Sean's chances in this case.

All hail myspace, first exposing the chick that got decked by CP's mom as a money hungry harpy, now taking down Taylor's prosecutor. Maybe Alstott has a myspace page where he admits he knew he was down...
