the eagles' money is more evenly spread among their players, ours is extremely loaded towards starters (except for wynn and, in a lesser sense, collins). you can only put as much talent on the field as you can fit into those 22 starting players though, and better talent there gets exceeding expensive pretty quickly. |

Re: NFL Network to Review the NFC East Today
Let all of these media people have their say. Let them doubt Gibbs and Co. It will make it all that much sweeter when the games start.
I dont see the Cowboy's...maybe I'm blind. The Giants are our biggest competition. The Eagles could bounce back. The Cowboys will finish in the basement of this division IMO. |

Re: NFL Network to Review the NFC East Today
Am I the only one who remembers when Gibbs first time around coaching our special teams would every now and again run reverses and latterals on kick return and punt return? We have not seen that yet on special teams. With the addition of ARE and with Moss having ST experience does anyone else think that now Gibbs may have guys that he will trust to do things like that?

Re: NFL Network to Review the NFC East Today
when accessing the redskins, what does it matter who got what money?mr snyder will take care of paying these guys.if they fit a need for the team, then they are the right move, regardless of what they make.all the free agents picked up will start somewhere,so i say we did pretty will in our additions

Re: NFL Network to Review the NFC East Today
Just by reading some of the posts, I am a bit puzzled why the "experts" are saying Arch is a liability in pass coverage. The reason I say that is because :
1) Arch will (I think) be used more for run support. If we go back to a couple of games where Taylor wasn't in the game teams beat us deep. Taylor is used generally as the deep help, especially on passing downs. 2) our defense does not employ a FS and SS. They are SAFETYS, period. The signing of Arch was done primarily as a run support safety, that can help some in pass coverage. We started the look for a safety when Clark got bulldozed by LT in overtime last year. Now, I can see the reasoning in the overpay category. We had to overpay Randel El and Arch to get them to sign. They both wanted to play in Chicago for their own personal reasons, but chose the Redskins strictly by what we offered in terms of dollars. Plus, we dont really know what they are going to do in the offense. Both guys are not really proven in terms of what we paid. Randel El brings some things to the table in terms of special teams, and trick plays, but has never been a proven everydown WR. Lloyd is young and I believe his numbers are a bit inflated because the 49ers were so bad last year and played from behind virtually all of last year, so they were forced to throw the ball a good bit. As far as Andre C goes, I think GMs and the "experts" are looking at last year stats. This is an error on their part because he basically played an OLB in a 3-4 defense. He stood up almost all the time. He will be back to his DE position in our 4-3 defense and back with his hand on the ground. He also will provide a little versatility where he can stand up and rush the passer ala lawrence taylor.(i am not comparing the two, only pass rushing positions) |

Is the fact the Archuleta will be use as a SS that covers the middle passes and helps in run support that he'll work in Williams system even though he was overpaid and we all have agreed that and I can agree with your statement that you needed to overpay to lour him out of other teams. Because you needed a SS to cover the middle so taylor can focus on coverage. And yeah Randall has to show that he can be more of a gimmick/ retuner player to be worth his value. |

My biggest problem with Sharpe's NFC East assessment is that he picked the Pukes to win the division. Are you kidding me!

Re: NFL Network to Review the NFC East Today
Everyone is. It's not anything new. They think that TO is going to put them over the top. Apparently he couldn't do that for a way-better-than-the-Cowboys Eagles team, so why do think they he can do it for them?

Re: NFL Network to Review the NFC East Today
Where else did they improve? I think their line on both sides of the ball is going to be worse...And they got rid of Glover.
You know what, I'm happy no one's picking the Skins to win the division. I don't want them to jinx us. |

[quote] how can you say that both lines are worse? just because we let go of Allen? we borught Fabini to help at the RT position that hurth us last year we have Adams back and you saw how mutch it hurth not having him the second time we face you guys from a 0 sack performance to a 7 sack if Adams and Rivera are 100% and with kosier there it will be an upgrade. Also the Line don't get me wrong Gliver is 1 of the best players to use the Cowbosy uniform but his a 1 gap tackle not a NT he ddin't fit with the 3-4 system so he had to be let go we've got ferguson there and also M. Stanley our draft pick to be his backup and with Canty, Spears in their second year and allready showed great potential and to that you add Ellis and Hatcher as a more nickle treath the line looks great and the LB corps you have Ware, B.James, FA adquisition Ayodele and 1st round pick Carpenter really you can't say they didn't improve. You can argew wich team may b better but you can't argew that DBoiz have improved this offseason in an allready good team. Like I can't arguew that the adquisition of Sauders, Lloyd and Randall won't make your offense better |

Re: NFL Network to Review the NFC East Today
In this division, regardless of what happens, at least two teams, mayeb three, will be suprised if they don't make the playoffs. It's a real crap shoot.

Re: NFL Network to Review the NFC East Today
When the middle of our d-line was banged up that's when teams were finding success on the ground against us.
Having a healthy Griffin and Salave'a in the middle makes all the difference in the world. |
