Yeah....6 ranking points different but still going with Dallas? Can you say contradiction?
I think the Giants have a much better team than many pundits think. On the other hand, Dallas I think is a much worse team than many pundits think.
The season will tell. I still like the Redskins going in a bit of an underdog though. No respect for a team that is very good, breeds hunger to prove tha you deserve to be noticed.

Same here, and I think Atlanta or TB gets a wild card, no big surprises predictions in the NFC for me...unless you count Arizona taking the west.

Re: A Change of Tune for ESPN

What about our run defense. Will that problem be fixed? We gave up a whole yard more in 2005 than we did in 04, from 3.1 to 4.1. 3.1 was by far the best in 04 with teams getting only as close as 3.6 ypp where as in 05 4.1 ranked us a disgusting 22. Our D was so good in 04 against the run, this year the best was 3.4. What happened? Was it pierce? Can it be fixed? Will carter help? I want that fixed. It was a problem for us last year. Total against the run went from 2 to 13. We are ranked 14th by ESPN and that is holding us back and it will hold us back against tiki and others. Luckily i don't think we play that many good running backs. Ofcourse that doesn't matter because we are going against GOD at the near end of the season.

not quite sure what all that meant what happened was warrick holdman. washington-marshall-pierce was WAY better than washington-marshall-holdman. Clark also got pushed out of the way on some runs as well. Archuleta shouldn't let that happen, but we will have a rookie at ROLB this year, so whether that gap in run D gets fixed is still a question... mcintosh is good at making negative yardage plays though.

Re: A Change of Tune for ESPN

i think our run defense was fine last year with the exception of giving up a few big plays. in this defense that is something that is going to be hard to fix unless the guys realize the importance of being in position

Re: A Change of Tune for ESPN

I remember it getting better later in the season. early on i felt sick with all the big plays we were giving up. I wasn't used to people picking up big amounts all at once on the ground against this d.

That's also third overall in the NFL. The Patriots are 4th and that puts them at the top in the AFC.

yeah, I think you're right. The first Giants game where Tiki racked up 200+ yards didn't help. Then there was a long run we gave up in the 49er game. Big gainers here and there were the difference in '05. In '04, all the cracks were sealed tight, everyone seemed to be in precise position, and as a result, almost nobody got through for a long run.

Griffin is the key to our run D. When he was out of the lineup the run D really suffered.

Whenver I see Sean Salisibury speaking, I think to myself "He knows he is only qualified to unclog toilets as a janitor at a fat kids camp." --No dis to janitor/fat kids for being referred in same sentence.

Personally, I think Salisbury is the personification of Uncle Rico.
