I'm just going to have to be ignorant, but I've had my fill of Brunnel. Its not this one performance, its an accumulation of lame duck performances going back to when he joined the Skins. He was a weak armed quarterback when he joined the Skins and has gotten worse. He cannot or will not throw the ball downfield. Worthless as a quarterback can be. He was a lame duck in the playoffs and has continued that this year. He had good numbers against the Texans and Jaguars but he was throwing dinks and dunks and his backs and receivers was padding his stats. Teams that have a book on him (Cowboys, Giants and Eagles), don't let him get away with that crap. The Skins are only as good as Brunnel plays and right now they stink.

He wasn't the hole reason but it just may be time to see if the Kid can get it done! Campbell is younger, stronger and faster then Brunell. Other teams have moved on from old QB's like the Giants,SD and Look at Grossman for the Bears. Look at the Boys dose anyone really think Bledsoe is going to take that team to a Championship? Is Campbell ready???? Well not likely no. But standing on the side line will not change that. So if your going to Puke sorry. I like Brunell but time has passed him by and it time to see if Campbell has what we hoped he can be! He may not but we will never know standing on the sideline. By putting Campbell againts a weak foe this week would be much better then the colts. Everbody believes the line,Wr's,RB's and TE are good enough to win. If that is true and the man calling the plays is that good then it comes down to the man at the QB spot.

Why? We're not 2-8.

Andre Carter - He had the best seat in the house. He watched todays game. Did he have a single tackle or QB hurry? He was manhandled in the running game. It is time to play Renaldo Wynn on 1st and 2nd downs and Carter on third and long. We over paid for Carter. We over paid for Archuleta.

Gregg Williams. for putting all his eggs in the Spring basket, letting go of Harris and Clark, and bad judgement on Carter and Farculeta.

he also called a bad, one-dimensional defensive game that didn't take a handful of ex-Redskins to figure out.

The Redskins organization.

Everyone. Gibbs, Williams, anyone in the uniform, the front office, the fans (i'll admit I was pretty blah all day). That was terrible from top to bottom.

Matty,

I agree that our problems went far beyond Brunell today. He was definately not the sole or main cause of our problems, but he certainly was not part of the solution.

Brunell, to me, seems like a stopgap measure ... he's not a playmaker, he's a custodian who just oversees things. Whenever Brunell gets pressure he becomes inaccurate and just looks awful. He can look great, however, when all the other parts are working. It is just too bad that its rare that all the parts are in fact working. He's as inconsistent as our defense.

Eli had all day, we couldn't do anything to him.

Props to Giants O-line + Tiki. From the first snap to the last it was won in the trenches. They we ready fresh off a bye week and it showed. Playing in NY is not fun and I'm glad we don't have to go back there until next year.

Re: Redskins v. Giants: Goat of the Week?

I won't change my theory on the QB situation, in which I believe we need someone who isn't eligible for AARP anytime soon.

But in this case it was just bad across the board. The offense sucked, the defense sucked. It was just painful to watch.

And to all these people bitching that we need Springs so bad.. Superbowl.. Even playoff calibur teams do NOT anchor on just 1 person being out. If Portis is out or if Springs is out playoff teams make up for stuff like that. They come ready to play regardless if they are banged up and they bring it hard. Not play some effortless, piss poor football and run around like headless chickens that don't know squat.

If your team is relying on 1 or 2 superstar people to be there 16 games in and out, then thats not a good team and serious changes need to be made. If the Skins want to make it to the playoffs this year, they need to learn to step up where their is setbacks and the Skins haven't quite figured out how to do that, namely in the secondary. How many times did Rumph get beat today? I mean it was just plain ugly.

Re: Redskins v. Giants: Goat of the Week?

There will be no game thoughts this week. Since the Skins decided to take the week off, I am too. Call these parting shots instead:

Our offensive line is good at home but absolutely terrible on the road. That crowd was fairly quiet up there today and yet it's penalty after penalty. The coaching staff needs to get on these guys and stay on them constantly. Otherwise, they just mail it in. Consistency is what counts in the trenches and they don't got any.

The offensive game plan was thoroughly predictable. Vanilla City. They came out thinking they could run the same stuff they ran against Jacksonville, and obviously the Giants looked at that game too. Portis seemed off his game and when teams take away Moss, LLoyd needs to step up. He seems like a Taylor Jacobs clone at this point. Give me Patten, now.

Its silly to blame Brunell. He's not the playmaker. If your expecting him to be Joe Montana you will consistently be disappointed.

Our defense is all smoke and mirrors at this point. They were fortunate not to give up 35 today. Nobody could get off a block up front. Andre Carter was simply overwhemed. Archuletta looks like a high school kid out there. Having said that they surrendered fewer points than last week which is astounding, really. Go figure.

Can we go back to blasting Frost now? He was awful today. Both of Hall's misses this year have been to the left. Ade Jimoh did a good job on covering that punt inside the 5. I knew he would show up big today.

Which brings us to the goat of the week. (Drumroll)

The winner is.....

Dale Lindsey. Shut your big yap and get your guys to focus EVERY WEEK.

Amen! I did not like it when this broke in the media last week, and it seemed very uncharacteristic of a Joe Gibbs coached team, for that type of stuff to occur. Why take shots at Arrington now? It seemed unnecessary to me, and given how bad the defence has played all effort needs to be on fixing the problems with the D. I am not an Arrington fan by any stretch of the imagination, I even thought what Lindsey said was funny, but inappropriate, and Williams and Gibbs need to reign in the assitant coaches. Get the players ready and let things be settled on the field, not by the media.

That game was putrid, but certainly the offensive line, and the entire defence were more rotten than the rest of the team. It is going to be a long season at this rate, and if this team does not focus and have the same level of intensity as the Jacksonville game this could easily be a 10+ loss, 0 - 6 in the NFC East season. This team does not have the talent were they can over look anyone, and after the fight the Titans put up in Indy, the Skins better be ready, or they will lose again this weekend.

Re: Redskins v. Giants: Goat of the Week?

Sorry, but this was a team letdown today... I'm surprised the score wasn't worse. Even though the giants dominated the stats, we were still in the game due to the field goal battle until the end of the 3rd. we couldn't stop any 3rd downs- the one that hurt was the 3rd and 15 or so that led to a TD.

The Giants did play well today. We played awful. That adds up to a win, and a deserved one at that, for the Giants.
