Skins vs Falcons can the skins win?

the players and coaches are always talking about only worrying about what the Redskins are doing and not so much about the other teams, but I hope they take some ideas from the defenses that have contained vick's rush..

probably both SLB and WLB will spy so they know for sure that h wont go anywhere, plus don't forget about warrick Dunn either, he is really small and really fast whih scares me alot

The Skins can certainly beat the Falcons. However, if the Falcons ever start hanging onto footballs it'll be trouble for the Skins.

Of course they will win.... the Skins are 1-0 when I have seen them in person, and I will be there with 90,000+ plus cheering the boys on... So my personal record will go to 2-0...

for what ever reason the skins always struggle against mobile QBs. Go back as far as Randall Cunningham when he use to give us fits twice a year. McNabb killed us for a few years. I think if we can control Atlantas running game we should be able to win the game. I would play mostly cover 1 to help the front 7 until they abandon the run. Our corners should be able to handle their recievers, plus Vick isn't all that accurate anyway if one does get open. If we play Redskin football and punch them in the mouth like we did Carolina, they will fold. They have no will to win right now. if we can get on the early they will give up!!

Atlanta really isn't as sporadic a team as people think they are. They don't really play with peaks and valleys. You get the same thing from them each week. They are a very, very mediocre ball club. Whether they win or lose is all about how their opponent plays them. If they get you out of your game and you try to chase Vick all over the field, he's gonna beat you. That defense is oppertunistic and if you are playing from behind, they don't let you back in often.

If we play our game, we will win. The defense has to do what works for it, and not worry about the threat that #7 poses. Cover the recievers, penetrate the offensive backfield, blitz early and often. Sure, Vick's going to frusterate you now and then, but stay in the gameplan and over the course of 60 mins, you will have more points than Atlanta.

So...yeah it's possible.

But that's it, they have been able to get other teams out of their game....that's good football strategy, isn't it? Dictate with your strengths and expose the other teams weakness.

I do think they are a little banged up in the seconday and John Abraham isn't 100% so that should also help.

Absolutely its a good strategy. Whenever you get another team off their game, you have an advantage.

Even still, the opponent shouldn't get off their game. Its up to us to make sure we go out there, play just as well on D as last week, and don't worry if Vick extends a few drives running.

It will catch up to them eventually. A QB cannot win a game by himself.

Basically what I'm saying is teams that spy Vick (more than on a situational basis) are in many cases poorly coached. I think GW is too smart for that, and I can not reasonably see us losing this game.

The Falcons run the ball well. They're #1 in the league and its not even close, they have 500 yrds more than the next team. If the skins want to win, they have to make Vick throw the ball.

They're only the highest in rushing because of Vick. Dunn is good, but he's not the reason they're #1.
