It wasn't an issue in '04 and '05.

Injuries played a big role this year.

Can't fix everything on one year. 8-8 or 9-7 will be considered a good year.

Why do so many people on this board not think he's good? He stepped up huge in their playoff victory last week, and he tied for the league lead in INTs. He had 10! Ty Law never had 10 while playing for Belichek. He only came close one season. Asante's becoming a shut down corner. He's the guy to go after, not Clements. This "he's a product of Belichek's brilliance" is nonsense. No one would say that about Tom Brady. The man has skills. Give him the credit he is due.

Also, how could you say he's not GW's kind of player when Peter King just wrote that he's also a run stuffing corner? Asante's 26 and on his way up, and Nate's 28 on his way out. I'd prefer the younger guy with upside. I can understand the argument about him being too pricey, but to say that Clements is better? Come on now.

As long as we can stay under the cap I think we can have our cake and eat it too. And we have, if nothing else, been quite successful in that.
