I'm not so sure cutting so much veteran leadership and in particular, players with "feel good" stories is such a good idea right before the season begins

Re: Here are the official cuts according to JLC

Wynn's "veteran leadership" didn't do much for us last year. He was long overdue to be shown the door. Just like with Joe Salave'a, after last year's horrid performances, nobody on the D-line other than Griffin deserved an automatic roster spot. The only puzzling thing is, they're getting rid of the bums who needed to be booted out, but didn't really do much to bring new guys in to replace them.

So let's see ... that's three draft picks (Sartz, Palmer, and Ecker) who didn't even make the team. Wonderful.

Boschetti is one of those guys who rarely stands out, yet makes on the roster season after season.

Its very sad to see Renaldo go...although I dont completely disagree with it...He was a class act and I hope he catches on somewhere and had a great deal of success....

I have watched Torrence and he has been fantastic a both corner and special teams. I cant believe Fabini made along with Boschetti. They looked horrible all preseason. I think we will still cut Fabini and pick up a decent guard. Baltimore cut Chris pino Brian Rimph, and Ndduke Ickucke. Maybe we will pick one of them up. If not, I am sure there is better than Fabini.

Omar Stoutmire and Dallas Sartz. I wasn't really surprised with the other cuts but these two seemed odd to me. I thought Omar was a pretty decent SS and could play CB and FS if needed. And of course Sartz because he was a decent pick from USC. I guess he was too hurt to play?

I guess you could say Wynn was a suprise, because he was a leader in the locker room and he's been one of the longest tenured players on the team, but his play was declining lately so it isn't that suprising. Lorenzo Alexander making the team as well as Marcus Mason, Chris Wilson, and Leigh Torrence are all suprises though.

Eubanks is a better corner than Torrence.

I kinda liked Hoag. He had pretty good hands in the pre-season.

I hope they practice squad him.

Only two I can dispute are Jimoh, our special teams ace, and Trucks. I've loved Trucks thus far.

So are we only going to carry 4 CB's this year?? By my count that's Springs, Rogers, Smoot, Macklin. Is that all or am I missing somebody?
