Re: Great Playcalling, Joe

Bad 2nd half defense + terrible play calling = DIVISION LOSS

This makes me sick!!!

Why does Sellers not get the ball once? And What is Portis doing on the sidelines at the end?

Sells got the first look (on a toss) and he dropped the ball...
I'm not sure portis makes a difference there...giant d-line had great penetration...not surprising given that probably everyone knew we'd run left. poor, poor scene.

Like everyone else, i wish we took more shots against a Giant D that gave up 80 points in the first 2 games...and like everyone else, i believe we were too conservative on O, our D was too generous in yards given up...bottom line we lost and we shouldn't have...

Re: Great Playcalling, Joe

There is no excuse for blowing this kind of lead at home.

The defense didn't just bend, or break, but rather imploded back through time into 2006. Our o-line was physically dominated. Jason Campbell was flustered most of the game, played poorly. Passes were dropped. Many missed tackles.

There was no rhyme or reason to our play calling. Too conservative on some plays, then running WR reverses at other times. This was an abortion of a game, and it's a huge loss.

We cannot afford games like this, and this team needs to come out swinging in two weeks.

Re: Great Playcalling, Joe

Offense got way too conservative, the defense spent too much time on the field because of it, and the Giants gained all the confidence they needed to get back in the division race.

Pathetic 2nd half coaching. Gibbs used to be the master of half-time adjustments. I think he may have outcoached himself in this one. Very disappointing.

And why is Portis on the sideline so much?

Re: Great Playcalling, Joe

obviously im furious w/ the 2nd half defense, no portis on the final series, and the the lack of the killer instinct (capitalizing on the turnovers).

if someone told you we'd be 2-1 you's have to admit you take it.

the one thing i hope the coaches realize is that they can still be aggressive on offense with a lead.

Playcalling was bad, defense folded and Betts is the most useless short yardage back I have ever seen. Stretch the ball out and you score, break a tackle that 9 out of 10 NFL RB's break and you tie the ballgame. That was as inexcusable as taking the ball out of Jason Campbell's hands.

This game was reminiscent of the Norv era Skins.

Yeah I will say the last two play calls sucked. Why the hell was CP on the sideline? And why the hell didn't they let JC try and win that for us. Tough game all around. Im not ready to call for their heads just yet.

I'm not calling for anyone's head. Not at all. I'm just upset about this one.

Yeah, I wasn't saying that towards anyone, just stating my opinion, but I am really upset too. This team just isn't playing as well as I would have hoped. We still got plenty of time to turn it around, but I really doubt we win the division, and I think Ill cry myself to sleep tonight over that.

I don't believe so. The Giants didn't play THAT great. (Granted they did play good) But when the Skins goes 3 and out for an entire half, the other team is gonna do something with all those chances. Which the Giants did.

i was one of the few in here that said the skins needed to be very careful of this team..they were coming in here 0-2 and getting ripped by the media and we were coming off a monday nighter at philly with a short work week.this gave me the feeling that this was a game the skins better be careful with and to boot it,s your typical nfc east slugfest for four quarters..

the end result speaks for itself and it sucks.......

Re: Great Playcalling, Joe

If you watched this game, this is not Al Saunders offense. The defense played incredible despite the pathetic offensive playcalling. You can not ask the defense to stop the Giants offense the whole second half if the offense puts up 14 second half yards. Joe Gibbs should just stop fucking up with the offense. He needs to just let Al Saunders run this offense the way he sees fit. We are the Herman Edwards' Chiefs team of the NFC. This is pathetic.
