Re: I hope this is a wake up call
Not sure how you came up with that. The only example I could think of in all of Gibbs years coaching is Ramsey and we see what he has done sense then. Last year the argument is that he was sticking too long to Brunell.

Re: I hope this is a wake up call
That is ridiculous. Why would Gibbs pull JC? I think he played fine, we just didn't have good play calling and we couldn't get our defense off the field.

Re: I hope this is a wake up call
So should the Broncos bench Cutler cause he had a bad game today? C'mon, remember these guys are young! This is a team effort, you knew it was going to be a bad day when Suisham missed the 39 yard field goal, Carlos Rogers whiffed on the Plexiglas tackle that he scored on and so on....

Re: I hope this is a wake up call
JC played OK at best he had so many wide open WR's I got the feeling he was starring down one WR for the whole play. I can think of about 6 to 8 times that he had a man wide open and dumped off a pass to someone else for a short to no gain. I understand that its only his 10th start but if he is starring down WR's the coaching staff needs to work on that with him. It was so bad my wife even asked why he was not throwing the ball to these WR's.

Re: I hope this is a wake up call
How about RUNNING THE BALL ON FIRST AND SECOND DOWN WHEN YOU HAVE A 17-3 LEAD????????????

that type of scheme only works when you are running the ball effectively for first downs, which we weren't. run, run, pass is what led us to 3 and outs...... note, when i say run, run, pass i include little dump passes (designed) as runs, as they were just as ineffective yesterday...

Re: I hope this is a wake up call
As people have said many times already. 14 points isn't good enough. We need to establish a 21-24 point lead if we are going to relax like we did. Running the ball wasn't working so well. We were trying to score.

Re: I hope this is a wake up call
Even if running the ball wasn't working well, you keep at it with a QB starting his 10th game.

Re: I hope this is a wake up call
We lost the game cuz the offense couldnt stay on the field in the second half and keep the defense fresh...we do that and we win...our inability to stop them in the second half has more to do with the offense than the defense

Re: I hope this is a wake up call
Hey, he just might pull JC say in week 10-11 if the season is on the verge of tanking. He pulled Ramsey after one lousy game for crying out loud. I am not saying pull him now either. He hasn't done anything to warrant that yet, but he does look shaky and the stats back it up. IF we keep losing like this Gibbs might not have a choice. But then again Gibbs or Saunders needs to call better games also.

Re: I hope this is a wake up call
only bc they forced 3 turnovers...otherwise they were very generous...didn't make stops...though that prob. has a lot to do with the O not being able to stay on the field.

Re: I hope this is a wake up call
The Lions are really, really bad. Not much else you can say about that.
If the Giants were as bad as the Lions are, we would have been 3-0 at the half. And I say that knowing fully that a two touchdown lead was not enough today. |
