Re: I guess Romo's contract extension
well... I can't believe they won. I just watched the game on tivo and that was gut-wrenching, BUT, the cloud has a silver lining. Had buffalo had ANY offense they would've handily won that game. Dallas has some GLARING holes and we should be able to take advantage of them when we play.

Re: I guess Romo's contract extension
He's got a low completion percentage and consequently he's being picked once every 20 throws. I expect this trend to continue.
He's doing a good job getting the ball to his receivers in space, and unfortunately I also expect this trend to continue.

Re: I guess Romo's contract extension
Man, I wish the Bills had a hands team. There are soo many what ifs in that game, but i think this proves that the Cowboys are very human and also speaks to media hype of this team. As far as the redskins go, this doesnt change anything and im not ready to crown any team in the NFC east yet.
I kinda like that they have this overinflated sense of ego right now and I wish the bears hadn't beaten the packers to bring them down to earth b/c I think they would have let their guard down a little bit against us if they came in to our game undefeated...

Re: I guess Romo's contract extension
How can this be?! The Cowboys are ranked #3 in all the power rankings...I just don't understand it. Can power rankings be wrong?!

Re: I guess Romo's contract extension
For some reason the media loves the Cowboys. They lose to a HORRIBLE team in the Bills and they are still loved and say what a comeback, when in fact, it was a collapse by the Bills. When the Cowpatties lose to the Patriots, they will say "well it's the patriots, they were supposed to lose", but if they win (huge if), then they will say it's the best team we've seen in a decade.

Re: I guess Romo's contract extension
The Cowboys don't play the west coast offense so no dinks and dunks and a 70% or better completions. What was his picks per attempts ratio before the game? The point is, I don't think, at least hope, he won't have a 5 INTs games again this season.

Re: I guess Romo's contract extension
Dallas' problem is that they can't really run the football. Barbour does a nice job on the draw play but other than that they are below average. Adding to this problem is the fact that Garret obviously doesn't think running the ball is important. This is not a good strategy for the long term. Wade Phillips probably knows that, but he has no control over Garret whatsoever. He is the head cheerleader. Come December things will look much different in the NFC East.
Also, is it just me or does Dockery look like he's 40 lbs heavier than he was last year? You give an offensive lineman all that moneyand he's going to go to the buffet.

They found a way to win against some incredible odds. They managed the game and when they were in a pinch they answered REPEATEDLY. There were some amazing things that they did at the end of that game and they came out of there with the win, and we can't overlook that.

Re: I guess Romo's contract extension
I was shocked that Romo threw so many picks too, but the Bills played this guy exactly the way I would have played him. Dropping as many guys into coverage as possible. He's great on the move and outside the pocket, I say spy him and make in stay in the pocket and beat you with his arm. If you still manage to stop the run while doing this (never easy) you'll be set. Unless Barber starts then it's not that tough to believe that this could work.
That's the gameplan everyone started using last year, first it was: put pressure on the young guy, then it became: confuse him with your coverages and it worked. He looked mediocre at best down the stretch and that's why. For the life of me I couldn't figure out why so many teams felt the need to keep bringing heat, he's a shifty guy who can make you miss and still complete passes, pressure doesn't phase him enough, so I say, go with exotic coverages. |

Re: I guess Romo's contract extension
From what I saw, it looks like we can go in with the exact same defensive gameplan against dallas as we did against Detroit.....since romo is not as comfortable in the pocket....and we have a healthy secondary...may I add that TO hates playing against ST becuase TO..for how big he is...hates getting hit more than any other Receiver.
And if Andre Carter comes in as amped up as he was last week....he will give the shaky Dallas O-line fits. I hope Terry Glenn stays out cause he usually kills us. Dallas looked very beatable last night, there is no way they can run the ball against our Linebackers.
