Re: 980AM reports Warner to start!

Here's something from their official site

Official Site of the Arizona Cardinals

And this is from a conference call with Ken Whisenhunt

"On if quarterback Kurt Warner will play this week:
"There is a possibility. He went out today and tried to do some things. We have to try to figure out what he can and can't do and if we can get the stabilization of his elbow right. I think if we can find something, we will know a little bit more about that later in the week, but he is going to try and play. Once again we just have to see if we can work with something that can stabilize his elbow with the handoffs and some other things. I am optimistic that maybe he can play but until we get through the week I don't know for sure."

If he's "trying" to practice and needs stabilization of his elbow just to take handoffs, I'd say even IF he does start, he's one good hit away from leaving the game. We're looking at Tim Rattay for the majority, if not all of this game.

I have faith in our defense regardless of who they have play QB. I need to see an ass kicking this weekend to regain my faith.

If I was Warner i wouldn't want to play our defense with that elbow like that. so i would start Rattay

4-2. done. If there is a trap game this would be it. We should dominate this game.

Re: 980AM reports Warner to start!

I'd rather see Rattay play than Warner.

But yeah, as for Springs, he should take all the time he wants. Whenever a man loses their father it's one of the most painful times in their life, because for most, not all of us, our father was there for us and helped teach us about life and guide us along the way. Ron Springs was def. there for his son and as he sits on his deathbed Shawn must be feeling the most pain out there.

Shawn won't play this weekend, I have no doubts about it. He wants to sit there with his father for as long as possible and everyone should just let him do what he wants right now. I do think that if he doesn't play, this will inspire his teammates to step up and play great for him.

Re: 980AM reports Warner to start!

If us worrying about whether Warner plays or not decides between a win or a loss, we've got some major issues.

We shut down Brett Favre and John Kitna. I'd think those two were at least on par with how Warner is currently performing.

If warner can play, he's shown enough to take some time from Leinart, so he can still do the job. Remember, they have great recievers & are now running the ball well. If our O can't sustain drives, they will score on us.

Re: 980AM reports Warner to start!

My question is, how do they stand more of a chance of scoring on us than the Packers (even in Lambeau they got shut down) and the Lions who we totally dominated?

Re: 980AM reports Warner to start!

I don't care who they start at QB, bottom line is that the Skins have got to start scoring more than 14 points a game if they want to win.

This total reliance on the defense like we did in 2004 is rediculaus.

Don't sleep on the Cards
They have some weapons on offense in James, Fitz and Boldin

Their d is playing well too.

I hope the skins are not looking to next week vs the Pats... this cardinals team has beat so people this season

Re: 980AM reports Warner to start!

I would much rather have Rattay in there instead of Warner. The Cards also get Anquan Boldin back this week, and we might be without Shawn Springs, and with our O-line in shambles this could be a very dangerous game.
