We're allowed to be senile after a loss!

I love Steve Spurrier!

Ok, moment of senility over.

That's true - who would you start with? The coach who now leads the league in losses after leading the first half? THe defensive coordinator whose scheme can prevent long bomb TDs but can't prevent a 3rd and 21? THe offensive coordinator whose offense couldn't score a TD from the 3yd line? The veteran players who commit dumb penalties?

When there's so many problems you have to start with the coach that's had 4 years with this team (incl. coaches and players) and he hasn't been able to right the ship.

Good thing about Gibbs is he will leave himself. Don't need to call for his head.

i think this is a little extreme. let's wait until the season is over. if we end up missing the playoffs again though, i think it might be time to move in a different direction.

Re: Its time for joe to step down.

I think we'll see at the end of this season whether Danny boy has any balls. If he does I think Gibbs for sure, and maybe GW and Saunders, are all long gone. He will be doing right by the league and the future of the team because shitcanning would make the statement that this kind of talent waste and piss-poor coaching is not tolerated in the NFL.
On the other hand, if Snyder has no balls and makes no major coaching changes next year will be very similar to this year (oh yeah, and the year before too).

Re: Its time for joe to step down.

Gibbs is past his prime, and he still is not bad, our only problem is that we are too conservative. When we had the ball on the goal line in the 4th, the only positive play was a pass, yet we ran the next three times. Not to mention, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" our three TD's came in the air, why wouldn't we trust the pass? Besides, our offense was looking dangerous in the air in that set, Campbell was completing pass after pass. We just gave Philly a win, brought them back into the mix, and after next week, both of us will be .500.

Couldn't agree more w/ everything you said hurrykaine.

I think they call what we see Sunday after Sunday a case of nonexistant leadership.

Judging by his past, Snyder probably wants to make a change, but he won't have to fire JG, who will leave at the end of this wasted season. He will give Gibbs the courtesy of stepping down rather than firing him. Can't wait to see who Snyder and Cerrato come up with to coach this team next year.

Re: Its time for joe to step down.

Gibbs needs to go. I understand Gregg WIlliams D gave it up, but come on, the damn Jumbo package does not work. Not to mention your using the Jumbo package from the goddamn 8 yard line. Joe Gibbs is now a gutless coach trying to pick up a few Ws to make his second tenure with the redskins look more like a success than a failure, unfortunately for us he cant coach inside the redzone.

Personally I would like to see Russ Grimm or Norm Chow coaching this team next year.

The old man sucks, period. He'll step down at the end of the season. Saunders and Greg Williams stink too - neither would make a good head coach. Williams' scheme can't stop a 3rd and 21? All this money invested in big name coaches, and not one credible successor to Gibbs - unbelievable!

I'm not going to make excuses for Gibbs, but all you calling for his head, you are wrong!! Who are you going to bring to replace him? Let Joe fulfill his contract, next year we draft and sign a free agent WR,DE,OG,DB and believe me this team will on scale with the elite teams. We are very close believe it or not, injuries have decimated this team on offense and defense. Next year Campbell will be more experienced and confident, it will be like night and day. Did you see what he did today? Multiply that X2, we will be healthier and more experienced, if you bring someone new you are going back to the drawing board and the new coach molds his new team. With the backups that are playing now, we will have more depth because of this.
