Re: 6 games to go... predict the stretch run

I think if we can hold of Tampa Bay this weekend, we'll go 5-1 to close out the year. If the Dallas game was a sign of things to come for the offense, I think once Sean comes back, we can hold it down on both sides of the ball.

Dallas will most likely be resting starters and we'll be facing people like Brad Johnston and Sam Hurd the last game of the season, so we should be able to take that game. The Giants will still be fighting for their wildcard spot, so I think we lose up there, even though there's no reason we should considering they have far less weapons than Dallas.

Re: 6 games to go... predict the stretch run

A lot of it depends on this week. Big game in Tampa coming up to decide if we can make the playoffs or not, and frankly it really depends on whether Sean Taylor can play at a high level or not. If he can, we shut down a very efficient TB offense and give Garcia hell all day. If he can't we give up too many points and lose a second consecutive game on the road.

I foresee wins in both weeks 13 and 14, and I also feel that we will take one of two from the Giants and Vikings before losing to the Cowboys on the last week of the season.

Even with a loss in the Tampa game, winning the next 4 wouldn't be improbable. If we are a playoff caliber team, we should be able to bounce back this week with ST's help.

This morning, I heard on Redskins Radio that Taylor won't play next week against Tampa. If that's the case, we could see a similar gameplan from Tampa that the Cowboys used yesterday. Galloway isn't quite TO, but he is a burner.

Recall the playoff game where Taylor was ejected. Before the ejection, Tampa got nothing beyond 10-12 yards in their passing game. After that, they continually had chances downfield. This is the type of game where if we get a lead, Gibbs/Saunders must go for the blowout to take a defensive secondary breakdown out of the equation of a win or loss.

Agreed!! Every game left needs to be played with high emotion, as if it was a playoff game.

The 'Skins should have played EVERY game this year as if it were their last. Yes, they played very well yesterday. But you just never know which team will show up week in, week out. let's hope they keep rolling and avoid further injuries and get some injured players back in the mix.

5-1...I think there is a loss still left in there somewhere...but yesterday was very encouraging...if we can make it past Tampa next week, we should start getting healthy again...ST will be back, Thomas will be back...other guys will continue to heal, I think we are in decent shape to make the playoffs, I'm not sure how deep we will go after making it in...but it will be fun while it lasts.

Re: 6 games to go... predict the stretch run

I was torn on this one. I wanted to say 6-0 based on the overall team effort yesterday at Dallas, but to be "realistic" I chose 5-1 thinking we'll either lose this week at Tampa Bay, or against Dallas at the end of the year. I think a lot will depend on injuries and guys coming back from injuries, but if we can squeak out a win at Tampa Bay this week I may change that to 6-0.

Re: 6 games to go... predict the stretch run

My orig. season W-L prediction for us was 9-7. So, here's what I think will happen for the remainder of the year:
Bucs-W
Bills-L
Bears-W
Giants-L
Vikings-W
Cowboys-W

3-3, if Dallas is resting its starters in the final game; otherwise 2-4.

I'll actually feel like 7-9/8-8 would be decent progress given the injuries and JC's inexperience...

A said 4-2 but it could be better if Sean Taylor returns soon.

IF we DO NOT have the lead going into the half, they may be able to pull out some more W's

I was talking to my best friend (a Cowboy fan) at halftime and congratulated him on the win based on Suisham's FG before halftime. We need to stop getting leads before halftime and maybe we'll be better off!
