Re: Latest on Campbell's injury

Latest from JLC:

Campbell Sepaks

Jason sounded a couple of time like his season is over, and from a realistic standpoint he made it sound as if he knows he has to be smart about his knee injury. However, he said he would take it "week-to-week," meeting the media while on crutches with his left leg in a brace.

Campbell said he will root on his teammates and rehab as best he can. Avoiding surgery was key for him, and he's trying to stay positive while realizing he has probably thrown his last pass in 2007 (barring the Redskins getting in the post-season, at least).

"It could be a lot worse," Campbell said. "I'm in a position right now where I don't have to worry about any kind of surgery or anything, and that's a plus. But you put a lot of hours and a lot of time into the offseason to put yourself in a situation like this - to help lead your team to the playoffs - and not to be in there down the home stretch, it's a tough feeling. But one thing I can't do is get my head down and get down on myself."

they totally occur easily after the first one. my left knee has popped out of place a handfull of times since my initial injury a few years ago and even after getting it back in place, it hurts like hell.

Re: Latest on Campbell's injury

I hated to watch him go down on Thursday. It is good that there is no ligament damage though. I think having him watch Todd Collins in action will only help him learn more about Saunders' offense. Todd opened up some plays that Campbell wasn't even allowed to attempt. Did you notice the plays where he was releasing the ball before the receiver even made their cut. I hope he can keep it up!

GO SKINS!!

Re: Latest on Campbell's injury

Watching Campbell going down in that game made me feel that the Redskins are truly a cursed football team. However, his injury sounds a lot better than what I had anticipated initially, and Collins came in and played very well. Maybe this is a blessing in disguise for Campbell. He can get some rest and hopefully when he plays again, it will be behind a healthy, starting OL line.

I was thinking the same thing. In a way, it might be good for Campbell to take a step back and watch someone who knows the offense inside and out; maybe pick up on a few things he might have missed on the field.

I guess we shall see what Todd Collins is made of...
The longer he is able to rest the less likely it is to pop out of socket again.

I'd prefer him to sit out the rest of this year even if we make the playoffs. At least he will have all the starters on the line back next year.
