Re: Redskins Cinderella story?
The same thought crossed my mind this week too. Especially after Campbell went down. I've already been running the movie through my head (Hey... I'm a drama director, it's what I do).
I've even envisioned a scene much like the "Lt. Dan" one from Forrest Gump. Basically, after Campbell's injury, one of the team members breaks down under the weight of all they've endured, they curse the football gods and cry out to the sky, "Is that the best you've got? Come and get me! Ahahahahaha!!!! Then they make their peace with God and win the Superbowl. I know. I have way too much time on my hands. |

Re: Redskins Cinderella story?
I think the main point is it would be uplifting as hell to see them make the playoffs. Whether or not it's a "cinderella" deal, whatever. All I know is it would feel really really good, and I'd be really proud of them for it.
I don't want to get my hopes up, but here's hoping anyway.

Something tells me the Saints are going to crap on our season. We'll both win out.

Re: Redskins Cinderella story?
with a team looking like it would be taking a perfect record in the super bowl cant say it didn't cross my mind who was in the bowl last time that happened. would hope for a different result of course.

Re: Redskins Cinderella story?
If the Redskins can make it to the playoffs...anything can happen. Remember 2005, the Redskins offense was led by Dr. Dunkenstein (Mark Brunnel). They could barely score 17 points but the defense was tremendous. They were one dropped interception by Carlos Rogers away from the NFC Championship...anything can happen.

Both the 2005 team and the 2007 team faced unbelievably tough competition week in and week out. If Todd Collins can provide Campbell or Brunell like efficiency without turning the ball over as often as Campbell does, it's very conceivable our passing game could improve to 2005 levels.

Re: Redskins Cinderella story?
Tirico called it today on his show, even said that we deserve it.. I don't want to be the league's charity case, but if we get into the playoffs I'll get over it!
