Re: Redskins vs Vikings Predictions

My heart is with the Redskins, but my head says the Vikings. After watching Brandon Jacobs gouge us for a buck thirty, I shudder to think what AP will do to us.

Not only that, but young, inexperienced quarterbacks like Tavaris Jackson rarely offer the Redskins any sort of advantage. Kellen Clemons, Chris Simms, all the way back to Clint Longley, -- something about opposing QBs who are spring chickens just brings out the worst in the Skins' D.

It won't be a runaway, but I'll say something like 20-10 Vikes.

You have no idea what AD will do to you. I can imagine somthing like 150-200 and a 3 TD game, you?

Collins gives this team the chance to win the game and this time the D finally makes a late game stand.

Re: Redskins vs Vikings Predictions

We're taking this one into OT.

Redskins outlast the Vikings through a balanced attack of run and pass. Offense has zero turnovers, and Clinton Portis breaks 150yds.

Redskins 30
Vikings 24
(OT)

I agree that this one will very likely end in OT but to think that Portis is going for a buck fifty is insane! They have allowed 1 RB to run for a 100 yards this season. They are one of the best run defenses of all time, its possible for Portis to break 100 just extremely unlikely.

Re: Redskins vs Vikings Predictions

Just cause the Vikings are on a 5 game winning streak doesn't mean they played anyone good. Come on now, they played Raiders, Giants, Lions, 49ers, and Bears. We've already beaten Giants, Lions, and Bears and could easily beat the Raiders and 49ers. They are not on fire. They are just beating on teams that are not good or they have just lost their spark (Giants/Lions). If you put the Vikings in against a team alittle better than them like the Browns. The Browns would win. If you can stop their big running plays, you will win. Go Redskins!

Redskins 24
Vikings 10

Or like the Chargers...opps the Vikings beat the Chargers and Peterson set a NFL record with 296 yards in that game....

Re: Redskins vs Vikings Predictions

The Vikes are completely one dimensional offensively. If we can just contain their running game we should be in good shape.

No offense Matty but what do you think EVERY team that has played the Vikings this year has had as their gameplan?....and the Vikings lead the league in rushing by a mile, have a winning record and are vying for a playoff berth....I hope the Skins have a better plan than that to win the game.

It really is that simple, contain their running game, force Jackson to throw, and you have a good chance of beating them. That's the basic formula that every team against them has, it's just a matter of getting it done.

What else would you want them to do? Give them the running game and try to shut down the pass??

No I am just saying that its a helluva lot easier said than done as they have proven throughout the year. They are averaging like 178 yards rushing a game and thats with EVERY single team they have played gameplanning to stop them. I'm not saying it cannot be done, I am saying that its pretty unlikely...but its all you can really do against them. The DLine and LBs are gonna have to play out of their minds football this Sunday night.

Re: Redskins vs Vikings Predictions

I actually think we can win this one going away.. 28-13 Redskins.. Saunders/Gibbs trusts Collins enough to completely run the offense.. Vikes are banged up (Jackson, Winfield may not play) coming off of a sloppy game.. They've also won 5 or 6 straight, it's really hard to continue to have everything go your way for such a long stretch in the NFL.

I'm not dead but this team is dead to me...but now that McCloughan is here they may have new life!

Jay Gruden = Zorny McSpurrier
Kirk Cousins = Next Grossman

Jackson is not banged up, maybe you meant Sidney Rice their rookie WR. Winfield is certianly a loss but the rookie Marcus McCauly has played very well in his absence before last week...matter of fact Winfield was out for a good chunck of their winning streak so apparently he isnt THAT important to them.
