I don't think we'll be seing Samuels being moved, but who knows. He's been a mainstay over there on the left side for a while. Like you, I trust Buges's decision making skills.
At least this didn't happen on 9/03.

Dockery to play RT because he does not have the footspeed to pull out at guard but he has the quickness to move a few steps and engage a pass rusher.
To whomever said he was a beast, please don't insult The Blob like that... |

SC, with all due respect if Dockery is too slow to play guard then he's definitely not better off at RT. Guys like Strahan will eat him for lunch, I don't even want to think about it. How about Kearse rushing wide on him, it would be an absolute nightmare.
He's better off inside working in a tight space. Putting him on an island would not be a wise move IMO. |

Matty:
I wasn't clear in my previous post. What Dockery cannot do is run forward very fast to lead a running play anywhere beyond the right guard. That is what I mean by "slow". He is quck enough in that he gets off the ball and into a blocking position quickly, but he cannot run straight ahead very fast. I think he might be able to outrun a snowman, but I'm not sure I'd wager on that... Tackles are not asked to run fast on many plays but they do need to be big and strong and have the quick feet to get into a blocking position. Doclery is big; I presume that he is strong or he would have been dropped off the starting OL because Bugel seems not to like folks who do not get with the weight lifting program; he has quick feet. I'd move him to tackle if it were my choice until he showed me in the later pre-season games that he just can't do that. After all, Jones has already plaayed RT in the NFL - albeit not spectacularly - so waiting to put him there is not a huge penalty while you see if Dockery can actually make the switch. |

SC, I wouldn't be surprised if Dockery is tried out at RT, I'm just not confident he'll stick.
Most of the scouting reports on him coming out of college said he would be better off playing guard in the NFL as there were questions about his quickness. I just can't see him faring very well against speed rushers, then again the dropoff from Jansen to anybody we have is going to be significant. It's a good thing Gibbs relies heavily on his backs and h-backs to help out up front, because they're going to be vital to our pass protection with Jansen out. |

tackle is a much slower position than guard dockery may be a perfect fit

Next week is Carolina....Will Julius Peppers be a good test for these guys? Or will Samuels be guarding him? I don't know too much about him (Peppers) but remember hearing that he had a lot of sacks in a short period of time.

I like the idea of Kenyatta Jones starting. Maybe we could bring back Brad Badger for some veteran depth as well

I think Gibbs will go with KJones...
The Times says that the 'skins are looking at former Dolphins Guard Jamie Nails and former Chargers Tackle Vaughn Parker to fill out the line. |

Sounds like Jones is getting the first look at RT. The Warpath spoke and Bugel listened! LOL
