Hirign GW maybe but eventually we all have to ask ourselves why was this guy who is so obsessed with winning(even though he has sucked at it) so turned off by a guy who appears a shoe in for the job. Maybe, just maybe GW wasn't really the right guy for the job. Maybe it was obvious to those who actually know what is going on that it was a disaster waiting to happen. I am just saying that nowadays most of the criticism towards DS is just criticism for the sake of criticism and usually has little to do with reality and mostly to do with bias and specualtion. Wheteher he brought it on himself is irrelevant anyways. |

Re: Peter King on Zorn Hire
I think this decision was largely driven by Cerrato. I don't think the backlash by the fans did Fassel in. If Snyder wanted to please the fans, he would have made GW the coach.
There's a scene in Oliver Stone's "Nixon" where James Woods, playing Bob Haldeman, says to John Erlichman, played by J.D. Walsh, "You know we're next, don't you?" Nixon had just fired his close friend John Mitchell. Well, Vinny is next. If this season goes in the crapper, Vinny has to get wacked. So the wheel of progress moves forward, however slowly.

Re: Peter King on Zorn Hire
If he let's Vinny hang around calling the shots while the team struggles badly for 3 years, he'll find out what a negative fan reaction looks like. I hope Vinny turns out to be a genius. But, I suspect he's not and would like to see the day when Snyder finally breaks down, gives in and turns over the decision making process to a real life, NFL football person. And I would like to see it in my lifetime or at least my son's lifetime. Getting rid of Vincenzo is an important step in that process. In that sense, I'm glad it's his ass on the line now.

So you don't think Snyder deserves what he gets,I mean after all the work Joe Gibbs did in setting the Skins up to go on without him Snyder just threw it away, like it or not it's a slap at Joe Gibbs.Anything the press has to say about Snyder ........he earned. |

This is not to say Snyder is a saint. But few people ever consider that there are at least two sides to all stories. Snyder made a decision severaly years back to drastically curtail (and eliminate completely during the season) his contact with the media, because of the perception that he was too involved in the team. And now that philosophy has come back to bite him because all that's really portrayed is one side of the story.

Just spoke with Mr Snyder this morning and asked him about his mental state after such an exhausting search for his successor to Joe Gibbs. He reiterated that it had been one of the most difficult of times for him, and as a result he had come to the conclusion the next time he's faced with the challenge his MO is going to be vastly different. He's going to invite all the media types form the various networks to his home, HAVE THEM present him with a list of names who they feel comfortable with being the next HC of the Redskins. Once all parties are comfortable with the list of candidates, they will return to their respective networks, conduct a poll and whatever candidate emerges as leader from the poll results he will name his next HC. But wait, there's a catch!!...............They will also have to pay him. |

1. Is this franchise in better shape than it was in 2000 when Snyder bought the team? 2. Has this team been a consistent winner since 2000? 3. What exactly have we won since 2000? Please take the glasses off before answering.

I'm all for patience. The last 8 or so years w/ VC has caused me to lose my patience. Get a guy in here that can run a football organization and let VC go. I don't know about you guys but there was a time that we were among the NFL's elite franchises. Now, really we're in the bottom tier and not going anywhere soon. I'm really not satisfied being mediocre anymore. |
