Re: Remembering Sean Taylor?
Even Portis didn't feel worthy of wearing it and he's our best player, so no one will even try.

It hasn't even been a year yet. I see nothing wrong with honoring him on the first anniversary. He was greatly loved by teammates and fans and was bound for the HOF someday. It was a huge loss on both personal and team levels.

Re: Remembering Sean Taylor?
There's nothing wrong with however they choose to continue to honor him. For those that think it's over I'm sorry but you're wrong. His locker is still preserved at Redskins Park and Cooley and ARE said the other day on Sirius that Taylor is still very much in their thoughts and he will continue to be. Just because it's a new season it doesn't mean they've forgotten him and they will continue to play for him.

Re: Remembering Sean Taylor?
Either the first reg. season game, or the game they played after he died (i forget what week it was) but they're probably break out the towels again.

Sean Taylor Honored in Miami Amy Shipley sends this item from Miami: Former teammates and coaches of Sean Taylor have been invited to attend the first-annual Sean Taylor Classic at the University of Miami Nov. 8-9, the Greater Miami Pop Warner League announced Wednesday. Taylor, who died last November of a gunshot wound after intruders broke into his Miami home, got his start in football with the local league, which renamed its annual bowl weekend--now in its 37th season--to honor Taylor's memory. Former teammates and coaches from Miami's Gulliver Prep, the University of Miami and Washington Redskins are invited to participate in the Nov. 8 opening ceremony at Cobb Stadium, which will kick off a two-day, nine-game event. Donations are also requested to help defray the $15,000 in events costs for officials, trophies, bleachers, medical personnel and others. Those interested in donating or attending should contact Frank Gowan, the president of the Greater Miami Pop Warner League at fgowin@kbmco.com. Tax-deductable donations should be made payable to Greater Miami Pop Warner League, Inc., c/o Frank Gowin, 8700 SW 159 Street, Palmetto Bay, FL 33157.

That sounds like a great thing to do. I have no doubts it will get plenty of support.

Re: Remembering Sean Taylor?
At FedEx they still have the big Sean Taylor sign hanging over the club level in one of the endzones. I'm guessing this will be permanent.

Agreed. Anyone coming into the organization would know that "21" is already taken.

Re: Remembering Sean Taylor?
I think ST will always be remembered. IMO he was well on his way to becoming the greatest safety to ever play the game. He inspired people with his play and his passion. It still hurts. Moving on does'nt mean he won't always be in our hearts. God bless those who still feel the pain of losing him. He was a tremendous talent, and I'm sure a tremendous teammate and friend to those fortunate enough to have known him. RIP #21
