Meh. I doubt he even passes Rock on the depth chart. But if Betts has to go on IR then we'd need a third anyway.

This move does'nt exactly excite me. Kelly had fluid drained from his knee and may be put on IR in a couple of weeks depending on his progress, but if he is , the thought is picking up another wide receiver. We're not giving anything up for Alexander so I guess it's not a panic move like Duckett was. I have my doubts about this move, seems like Rock always gets the shaft. Hope I'm wrong.

i like the move .. Not giving up anything . rock is great FOR SPECIAL TEAMS, i mean this moves does not hurt, to have a back who knows the system to help spell CP .. rock is a great kick returner and a great redskin however this team needs to treat this season as a special season, the table has been laid out for a strong deep run to the playoffs, another set of legs can't hurt .. all HAIL ..
HIP HIP .. HOORAY

SA isn't gonna be in mid season form. Will he truly be able to give CP a rest?

We have a good third down back, CP. He is in there every critical play. Why would they put someone off the street in that situation and ruin the team chemistry.

SA at vet min isn't a bad idea.
even if he sucks, it's not like you have anything invested in him... and there's still a chance he could play well in a limited role, which outweighs the non-existent risk. |

re: Redskins Sign Shaun Alexander (Merge) *updated*
he might know some of it.. seeing that the backs do run some pass routes... does anyone have stats on SA as a receiving back?

Is it his size? are they looking for a heavy power runner and Mason is not but 215 pounds? I don't get it. He had the most yrds out of all the RB in preseason. Bring back Mason. Keep grooming him. |

He did have the most yards out of all RBs in the preseason - he also got all those yards against 3rd and 4th string guys and scrubs. Obviously the coaches see something they don't like or don't see something they think is necessary. Either way, they've spent way the hell more time evaluating him than any of us have.
