Re: FYI for 2009.. Draft & Schedule
Randle El isn't terribly productive, has a high cap figure, and will be 30 years old by the time next season starts. If you are a GM for another team, what kind of draft pick would you trade for him? Ladell Betts will also be 30 years old by the time next season starts and good running backs can be found late in the draft. So, I would be stunned if we managed to get anything better than a 5th round pick for either player and we'd be lucky to get that much.

I definitely think The skins should still make that move, put the onus on thomas, kelly, or davis to show up next season. i hope they have the maturity to realize they were complete busts this season and they need to really pick up the pace next season. Definitely, definitely trade the first rounder to get more picks because the Skins do not draft well (Sean taylor is the only one who comes to mind who was a stud - Rogers is still a work in progress) in the first round. Pick up o linemen and d linemen because griffin is getting old, gholston is not a suitable backup, jansen is finished, samuels is showing his age. I think the trench units will be in serious trouble next season if they are not shored up. |

That's horse crap. If the best available player is a tight end, than why take a tight end when you have Chris Cooley and you just drafted Fred Davis. Why not combine the two philosophies and take bet available of the needs you have! Take the best available OL with our first pick, or trade it for more. Last year we had a pick somehwere in the 20's and got two second rounders for it, so I think a 13th pick could get us more than that. I woould like to keep the pick, and find someway to get more picks through a trade. Find some idiot to take Randle El for a 4th rounder.

Oh, and Philip Merling, who VC claimed wasn't panning out for the Phins, had a pretty big play in that Jets game. |

Yes according to NFL.com the 'Skins do draft #13 overall not #14. We need a big pickup with this pick on either line this year!!

Re: FYI for 2009.. Draft & Schedule
I don't think we should trade down. Hopefully, one of those stud OTs will drop to us at 13, which is highly likely. Michael Oher, I've been waiting for you. Otherwise, there will still be some great, potential star talent at 13. The aforementioned Rey Maluauga LB USC, Taylor Mays S USC, Vontae Davis CB ILL, Brian Orakpo DE TX, and BJ Raji DT BC. #13 is a pretty high pick that we should try to cash in with.

Re: FYI for 2009.. Draft & Schedule
if there is no change in the front office such as Vinny gets fired and hiring a new GM, this team will be 5-11 next year!!!!!!!!!!!!!
