Re: Release Him!!!

Like others have said in this thread id cut ARE if we didnt have to take the cap hit. Id much rather just have Moss, Thomas, and Kelly catching passes at WR. ARE is a slot WR at best and he is a terrible returner. Hes not worth what we are paying him. For the years he has played and the amount we have spent he is the worst FA signing the Skins have ever had since Snyder has been here. Some would say others like Arch but at least we got rid of him after one year via trade and drafted LaRon Landry. Randle El has been here since 2006 and hasnt done one thing for this team imo and hes getting paid massive amounts of green.

Re: Release Him!!!

The candidates are:

Rabach - never gonna be better than you saw last year

Heyer - after three years of Joe Bugel tutelage, you have to expect better if there is any talent there to make better.

Randle-El - lots of money tied up there for mediocre on-field production.

Thrash - not much as a WR, but does add value to special teams.

Griffin - if you believe any/all of the young DTs are worth more than a bucket of warm spit, then Griffin is expendable.

My pick: Rabach...

Is he a starter? He is definitely behind Horton and probably behind Moore.

Re: Release Him!!!

I don't want to change the gist of the thread, but the question is, with or without cap numbers involved? It makes a difference. For example, cutting Randle El would cost us $13.4M, keeping him is $4.1. Cutting Jansen- $6.2M, keeping him $3.4M. So realistically dropping those two can't happen.

I'll assume we're dealing with reality here, and so I'll take the cap numbers into consideration. I say Rabach. He stinks and would only cost us $1.3 to cut, and $3.6 to keep. Problem is we don't have an upgrade for him currently on the roster.

For the record I think Randle El is a marginal return man at best, and wouldn't be any better than a #3WR on almost all teams. But a $13M hit in '09 is absurd. Cap numbers aside, I'd like to dump him, Rabach, Thrash, Jansen, and Betts.

Re: Release Him!!!

How ironic it is that people are quick to defend players when asked if they should be cut. lol. but these names have come up before.

ARE
Jansen
Rabach
Betts
Rogers..lol.
can we add Rock?
Thrash

Imagin if....if some of the people we picked up this yr can actually play better and bump any of these players. CAP implications a side. I honestly could see...

Jansen...cap hit
Thrash
Rabach
Rock
Betts

I think we brought in enough talent that these guys should worry but I get the feeling most of these players will be going nowhere simply cause they have been with the team and have the system atleast a yr under there belts.

Rabach. We could replace him with a speedbump and get better results.

Far less TD-canceling penalties with a speedbump.

That was one game which we ended up winning. Did people go on and on about cutting Kendall (whose mistake actually did lose the game for us)?

Pete's sitting at home now.

Casey is just very lucky we couldn't land Alex Mack in the draft, or he would be too.

They could have had Alex Mack if they wanted him. Wisely they chose to attack a need instead of a luxury.

I thought his contract was up, not that we cut him? Maybe I am mistaken here?

You are right about Pete's contract. My point is that I see people ripping Rabach over and over again and it seems that a lot of people can't get past that series at Dallas.

My question was if people were as mad at Kendall whose mental mistake actually lost a game for us (at a minimum a 10 point swing possibly a 14 point swing) as opposed to Rabach's errors which only made the margin closer.
