The guy was an incredible performer dating back to his days with the Jackson 5. McMahon, Fawcett, and now it looks like Jackson. Wow! Look, we all know MJ has/had his quirks. He lived a life few if any of us could ever even imagine being around, let alone living. In many respects he didn't handle it well, but his gift as a singer and a dancer can't be ignored. Some reports say he is in a coma, others are saying nothing is publicly being stated so that all family members can be notified first.

Re: Report: Michael Jackson Dead at Age 50
Thriller and Off the Wall are definitely the best two. I prefer Bad to Dangerous but that can be debated as well. That was such a different era for albums. People could realistically sell 10 million or more records. Big albums were like summer blockbuster movies, just these larger than life events. Now the goal for a singer is to sell a million ring tones and get Coke to sponsor your tour.
That was an era when pop stars just seemed bigger than they are today, and no one towered above his era like MJ. Anyway, as SS said he remains a controversial figure, but I hope this thread doesn't just become an echo of tasteless jokes. |
