Re: Which Jersey...

For me...

I'm thinking:

65 - Butz
87 - Downtown Charlie Brown

or one no one has said...

#24 - Kelvin Bryant ... I always loved that guys some reason...

But... you also could go with Babe Laufenberg (he was on the Skins in '83, then '85, then '87 and never played a snap in reg. season... lol), Cary Conklin, Stan Humphries, Jeff Rutledge, Trent Green, John Friez, or Tony Banks! lol

Or even better yet... saved the best for last...

anyone remember the name Ed Rubbert, Anthony Allen, or Lionel Vital? They only went 3-0 for us as a QB, WR & RB in '87 with one of those wins against a Cowboy team that had Randy White, Tony Dorsett, and Ed "Too Tall" Jones during the strike!

Rubbert - 110 passer rating, 4 TDs in 3 games
Vital - 346 yds rushing in 3 games, 2 TDs

...not sure what #s they wore...

#87 Anthony Allen (I remember his #) is my personal choice of those... does anyone remember that he still holds a record for catching 8 balls for 255 yards (!) and 3 TDs in that first replacement game vs the Cardinals?? I'll never forget those replacement games.... BTW that movie "Replacements" with Keanu Reeves is based on the '87 Redskins ... just more FYI for ya... lol

No Riggins. I only deal with autographed memorabilia. We do advertise to have the largest selection of jerseys autographed by former Redskins though.

Was #51 Monte Coleman the only Redskin to be in all three SB victories?

I was going to say, wasn't Donny Warren in all three on Offense?

Donnie Warren, Russ Grimm, Joe Jacoby, Jeff Bostic were also in all 3. I have a feeling there might be one or two more from the offense, but I don't have time to check.

This is my basic criteria though:

* Not #28. Have that one now... that is the karma I am separating myself from.
* Not #84. I am a JMU alum and have a custom JMU Gary Clark jersey that I wear on Saturdays and the occaissional Sunday(though too many clowns seem to think I am supporting the Vikings and just don't get it).
* I started following the team in the late 70's and have always been a fan. So, anything from about '77 on is in play.
* I try to avoid the most common overused guys even though I loved them. 44,81,etc.
* No #21 -- bums me out too much.
* No current players. I refuse to get stuck holding onto a jersey with a departed player.

My short list has guys like:
#55 Chris Hanburger - "The Hangman"
#72 Dexter Manley
#70 - Just the word "Gut" in place of the name. I have a feeling people would not get that either though.
#27 Ken Houston ? Dude was stone cold. Skins traded 5 players to get him.

Any other thoughts?
There was another pretty good guy that wore #21 Terry Allen

#57 Ken Harvey
The Hogs just pick one
Jim Lachey
Chris Samuels
Stephen Davis
Brad Johnson

Re: Which Jersey...

That's the only thing I hate when it comes to the older players. Most didn't play with our current jerseys and a lot of them you can't find in authentic so you are either left with a replica / premier or a jersey style the player never wore.

A Kilmer jersey would be a good one if you frequent bars.
