Re: Ranking the 32 Head Coaches in the NFL
^ mike shanahan has only been out of football for 1 season lol... It's not like Joe Gibbs or anything. He's avg. 10 wins a season for his career, and 2 super bowls. He's top 5 for sure

Re: Ranking the 32 Head Coaches in the NFL
I like Rex but he might be a tad overrated on this list. He got it done for one year, let's see how he does over the course of a 3-5 year stretch before he hits the top 10.

Re: Ranking the 32 Head Coaches in the NFL
Pete Carroll has won a division title and a playoff game as an NFL head coach. Kubiak still hasn't done that.
I think Kubiak is a solid head coach, but it's become put up or shut up time for him

I don't know that 9-7 is getting it done, even if it is in the AFC-E

Re: Ranking the 32 Head Coaches in the NFL
I think you might be overestimating pain killers. Do they work? Absolutely, however the fact of the matter is they can only do so much. On top of that you can only take a certain amount as to properly balance pain relief and mental/physical acuity. Pain killers in the amount that would totally kill pain would cause you to fail a field sobriety test.

They got to the AFC Championship, I'd call that getting it done

Re: Ranking the 32 Head Coaches in the NFL
I wonder how much of the Texans success was Kubiak's doing, or Kyle Shanahan's offensive gameplan?

Re: Ranking the 32 Head Coaches in the NFL
We'll find out, but they're stacked on D also, except for the secondary.
I expect a little decline from Schaub's monster 2009 season, but not a lot.

Re: Ranking the 32 Head Coaches in the NFL
If you were ranking all the coaches from 1-32,guess who would be #1 in opening day wins?
Yep! You guessed it! Mike Shanahan is 12-4 in week 1 games his career.

Re: Ranking the 32 Head Coaches in the NFL
I have no argument with the coaches in the Top Seven here. I could debate for a long time about which coach should be higher or lower, but the Top Seven here is a pretty good list.
The next three coaches, Wisenhunt, Harbaugh and Ryan have thin resumes. Maybe they belong that high on the list and maybe not. Time will tell. Regarding the rest of the list: Wade Phillips is too high at 15; I'd have him between 20 and 22.
