Re: Where was Fred Davis?
I told u guys 2 TE's doesn't work in the NFL, look at Dallas.. Bennett almost never gets a chance. Fred could be a Number 1 TE for 10 teams IMO, he just can't get time bcuz of 47.

Re: Where was Fred Davis?
Given that Indy has a small front 7, we might line up in a lot of double TE this game. I would guess that the 3 wr sets were an attempt to spread the field, get them in a nickel as we were gettin whooped up front by GB.

Re: Where was Fred Davis?
Everyone has to realize that even with our best guys on offense, Cooley and Moss, we're still only averaging 14 to 17 points for the last how many years? They're nice players but like I said, they're not guys that can get in the end zone on a regular basis. Davis showed in his limited playing time (last year) that he is fully capable.

Re: Where was Fred Davis?
I remember one particular play the announcer mentioned Davis being wide open. I guess we need McNabb to trust his receivers a little bit more outside of Moss and Cooley. It looks like Armstrong is becoming another go to guy, but I think we could use Davis in short passes or have him come off a block and catch a dump off pass in short yardage situations.

Re: Where was Fred Davis?
Lets not forget the Packers defense is pretty good. So keeping him back to block and the Packers still finding ways to get to McNabb says a lot. Go ask our left guard who on more then one occassion failed to hand off the NT and was out of position for the blond haired hippie who kept running past him untouched.
No seriously though the Pack is a good team. Right now they have sustained quite a few injuries so I'm not sure how their season will fair out but they had a talented offense and defense. They were one of my picks to go to the SB. It seems a lot of teams are defensively sound. But offensively struggling. I predict we will see more of Davis against the Colts. |

Re: Where was Fred Davis?
With injuries to both OT's you can bet that Cooley and Davis will be doing their share to help in pass protection, and Cooley will get the call to be a receiver before Davis. We need to get the OL healthy to get the most out of Davis as a receiver.
