We have some serviceable returners. None with Banks' game-changing speed, but Moss, Hall, Buchanon (did well), maybe Keiland Williams and we could always promote Austin.

I wouldn't want Moss or Hall doing it full time, but when we need a spark, they're useful.

Chad Simpson's pretty solid, was with Indy last year at least, as a kick returner

Ha! That is funny.
If we needed to clog up a roster spot with a low production player that excelled at male modeling and making music videos, he would be perfect.
Production on the field is not really important.

Devin Thomas has taken his act to Carolina - - where just as in Washington - - he cannot find his way onto the field on Sundays. No apperances in games yet.

And it's not as if the Pantloads are on some kind of roll where they don't want to break up a winning combo or anything like that...

By the way, two of the guys playing in front of him are rookies. I thought rookies weren't supposed to be able to be any good at WR because it took a couple of years to learn how to play at the NFL level...

That does sound familiar...should be Devin Thomas's catch phrase

Damn. He was one of only a handfull of Skins that was actually earning his money. Without him in the Lions game, they would've blown us out. As a returner, he's our best chance at offensive points.

He will probably only be out for the Eagles game. With that said, if the Eagles are going to beat us, which they most likely will. (Lets be realistic) it will be with or without Banks.

If McNabb shows up, we wont need good field position to win. If he doesn't, it wont matter.

Home game, Torrain back in the lineup, McNabb with a wakeup call and 2 weeks to get right, and I think our defense is ready to go. Vick may be feeling well now but our defense is going to bring the lumber and 2x4 him 'jim dungan style' Hooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!

We need all the help we can get with field position. Hell, special teams played HUGE role in us having all the close games we had in the first half of the season.

The offense has been averaging an abysmal points per game recently.

I agree SCP but, at the end of the day, this game all rides on DM. If he converts we win, if he's throwing at the ground and into triple coverage... well you know the story. Unless of course Banks would have brought it to the house on every return.

(Assuming D plays well too, of course) for those that would argue.

Redskins Insider - Team hopes Brandon Banks will be back in 2-3 weeks

An MRI exam last Tuesday revealed a meniscus tear. Banks traveled to Birmingham, Ala., on Wednesday to meet with renowned orthopedist James Andrews, who recommended immediate surgery.

"I really don't know" how long he'll be out, Shanahan said. "Usually, it takes two to three weeks, and we'll just kind of see how he heals."
