I don't know if Byron Leftwich would make my "good not great" category. He flamed out pretty quick.

Certainly he was not a great pick. But he gave the league a couple of years of quality starting quarterbacking and then some gutsy play as a back-up. I think he was a better pick than Kyle Boller (the QB taken after him) by a significant margin so I can't bring myself to say he was a wasted pick. In addition, the only QBs taken after him in 2003 who made any impact at all were Grossman (Round 1) and Seneca Wallace (Round 4). Neither of them has been a luminary since 2003... Maybe the thing is that 2003 was just not a great year for QBs in the draft?

Re: Data Post #2...
What have we had 3 QB first round picks in the past 12 years or so (schuller, Ramsey and Campbell). Drafting a QB is so tough. Let hope Shanny is doing the reasearch on who to get next year as soon as the season is over. A nice franchise QB that would last 10-15 years would be great.

At least we can say we will be something until 2022. A Punching bag. I heard Pacquiao just ripped his last one to streads.

Re: Data Post #2...
As much as I dislike Jimmy Clausen, I don't think he has received a fair chance in Carolina so far.
